I'm going to sort out and tidy up every drawer and cupboard in my house. Want to join in?

This morning I woke up with a kind of itchy compulsion to sort and tidy every single drawer and cupboard in my whole house. I have no idea why but I'm snapping on my marigolds and reaching for the Zoflora.

I don't have a week or a fortnight off work to do one big blitz. I'm going a drawer or two at a time, and saving the big jobs (like under the stairs cupboard) for weekend days.

Today I've sorted out my two bathroom cupboards.
I've dumped all the old, out-of-date medicines, combined all my body cream remnants into one divine-smelling body lotion soup, re-positioned everything in order of actual use, and put everything on 'themed' shelves in one of the cupboards.

I've scrubbed the inside of the cupboards and they're now lemony fresh. Unfortunately, one of them's going a bit rusty and the other one is stained with Harpic 😯But they're clean and tidy.

I am very proud of myself and now rewarding my efforts with a caramel chocolate digestive.

Anyone want to join me? We can support each other, update on progress, perhaps share picture if you'd feel comfortable to do so.

I've managed to do my under the sink cleaning cupboard and sort out another cupboard next to the washing machine to have all laundry related stuff in it. I'm sorting a new laundry system because I'm sick of the overflowing basket so I've tried to make it easier to keep on top of. I've labelled a collapsible basket for each person so clean washing can be sorted into the correct basket and given to that person to put away and the basket can then return to the cupboard. Then I've sorted a utensils drawer and a Tupperware drawer. I've also sorted all our spare bedding and folded it inside the matching pillow case and one set is now stored under each bed. The rest is in the huge to go pile.

Ok so it's only taken me five weeks from seeing this thread to doing my own but I finally have one to add!

I threw out some ancient Brazil nuts.
Some tuna pasta bake seasoning that I've moved house with three times (including internationally!), best before 2015
Fish stock that DH randomly bought because I asked him for knorr stock cubes. Out of date.
A couple of other random out of date things we'll never eat.
All the many many assorted spices that had spilled into the drawer.

Relocated the appliance manuals, dishwasher spring replacement that we can't use (should just throw this away?), Birthday candles, and coffee machine descaler. Also, descaled said coffee machine.

No idea where to put the sushi roller (why do we have a sushi roller?) Or the kebab skewers.

But it now has pasta meals, stocks and soups, spice refills and meal seasoning kits and sauces.

I still have a few cupboards and drawers to go. I don't think I'll make the July 18th deadline we set up thread but never mind. As long as it all gets done!

I'm still slacking - I did properly sort out the refrigerator last weekend, and the booze shelf. Chucked a bottle of white that I'd opened & then ignored while I was really unwell - it was a funny colour 🙈 Moved almost finished stuff to the front - to be finished first.

We've also been using up open snack cupboard stuff, rather than buy more. I ate a chocolate Santa last night & have a few mini eggs for later on tonight. I'm trying really hard to finish stuff off before buying more!

So much so that I've finished off my shampoo as shower gels since my hair's fallen out due to the chemo. I'll treat it to something nice when it grows a bit more.

Tomorrow's plan is dd1 to clean out & sort the plate cupboard. I'll do under the sink and shit drawer. Possibly pan cupboard depending how far we get.

I've no chance of being done by 18th July though 🤣 I'll keep chugging away at it ...it's looking better for the bits that are done.

@MaryCondom your box room looks lovely. I'd like a space like that.

I did the medicine cupboard on Friday and sorted it all into small labelled boxes to make it easier to find what we need. No chance of sorting things over the weekend but today I did the car. Not a cupboard but it was full of junk. All neat and tidy now and I'm going to restock with emergency supplies for the summer months and then update it each season. Think I'll get one of those boot organisers to put the supplies in.

Not sure I'll get chance to do much tomorrow but the next area to tackle is the top of the fridge...again!
