I'm going to sort out and tidy up every drawer and cupboard in my house. Want to join in?

This morning I woke up with a kind of itchy compulsion to sort and tidy every single drawer and cupboard in my whole house. I have no idea why but I'm snapping on my marigolds and reaching for the Zoflora.

I don't have a week or a fortnight off work to do one big blitz. I'm going a drawer or two at a time, and saving the big jobs (like under the stairs cupboard) for weekend days.

Today I've sorted out my two bathroom cupboards.
I've dumped all the old, out-of-date medicines, combined all my body cream remnants into one divine-smelling body lotion soup, re-positioned everything in order of actual use, and put everything on 'themed' shelves in one of the cupboards.

I've scrubbed the inside of the cupboards and they're now lemony fresh. Unfortunately, one of them's going a bit rusty and the other one is stained with Harpic 😯But they're clean and tidy.

I am very proud of myself and now rewarding my efforts with a caramel chocolate digestive.

I should say, I do have more cleaning stuff than just polish and Fairy liquid and a token tub of Pink Stuff.

It's all kept in the cupboard of nightmares under the stairs because the bottles are too tall to stand up in my pan drawers.

My declutter guru is A Slob Comes Clean. She's v realistic. I like her podcast and books.

Just wish all cleaning products were in bottles less than 18 inches high, I buy bathroom cleaner purely based on whether it's squat enough, and bleach is a diagonal. I'd love a cleaning drawer though, my undersink shelf rotted a decade ago and for some reason has never been replaced, so extra weird stuff like carpet shampoo and oven cleaner resides in a 30 litre storage box

Mid attic sort out. Just found a strapless bra I borrowed from my mum in the nineties. I must ask my 86 year old mum if she wants it back..

Oh I've just started this - got the urge and it's not gone away so I just keep picking an area when I have some time and start blitzing! Feels great!!

Apparently the randomly piled hiddeldy piggeldy bakeware cupboard has nominated itself as the next victim...by launching a Pyrex dish across the floor upon opening which has then shattered into a million pieces all over the kitchen floor 🤬

@MaryCondom thank you, you've inspired me! I've cleared out our junk medicine cabinet, thrown away a zillion things (lice treatment from 2014!)and it looks so much better. I've also found 6 bottles of the shampoo I like and buy whenever it's on offer. This will save me a bit of cash going forward!

Me too. My house is completely organised, I even colour co-ordinate my sock drawer and fold my knickers. Thoroughly enjoyed a brief flurry of activity when DD went to university and had to sort out her room, but it was too short lived. Have resorted to offering my services out (free obvs) to grateful friends just so I can get that dopamine hit from tidying.

I've just finished up a load of garden jobs so I could tidy up the left over bits for properly putting away in the shed. It's been a mess in there with half finished projects/jobs waiting to be done. Finally all the excess stuff has been properly put away (or disposed of) and the shed is tidy again. I love being able to get in there and find what we need really easily.

I'm off the rest of this week, so I think I'll tackle my daughter's bedroom (with her as she's a teen). She's having a sleep over later in June so we really need to give it a good clean but that means giving it a good tidy and sort out first.

I try to do this occasionally. I manage to clear out mine, but Dh never gets round to his. So all the cupboards are full of his shit.

Then I went to tackle the all manner of serving dishes drawer....

... But this spiraled into a three-drawer activity because lots of things needed moving and more appropriately housing.

Marycondom my acquisitions half of brain is drooling over that turquoise rectangular tray. I never realised that I actually love sorting and tidying until I started helping my adult daughter sort some random shite boxes. Maybe that's why I keep so much stuff, to sort it every year then moan

That shit cause more storage problems than anything else😭

I am still trying, I really am! Just back from a cruise and my face fell at the site of my room (not , astonishingly the clean up faires had not done their job!). I have so much to do!

Utensils drawer done this morning.

And I did the drawer with the bin and recycling caddies but there's not much to see there. I mainly just straightened things out and wiped the thousands of tea-drip stains from the caddy lids.

I might be a bit quieter over the coming days because I've got a busy long weekend ahead. I haven't given up, I'm still on a mission and will update as/when I can or when I have some progress to report.
