I'm going to sort out and tidy up every drawer and cupboard in my house. Want to join in?

This morning I woke up with a kind of itchy compulsion to sort and tidy every single drawer and cupboard in my whole house. I have no idea why but I'm snapping on my marigolds and reaching for the Zoflora.

I don't have a week or a fortnight off work to do one big blitz. I'm going a drawer or two at a time, and saving the big jobs (like under the stairs cupboard) for weekend days.

Today I've sorted out my two bathroom cupboards.
I've dumped all the old, out-of-date medicines, combined all my body cream remnants into one divine-smelling body lotion soup, re-positioned everything in order of actual use, and put everything on 'themed' shelves in one of the cupboards.

I've scrubbed the inside of the cupboards and they're now lemony fresh. Unfortunately, one of them's going a bit rusty and the other one is stained with Harpic 😯But they're clean and tidy.

I am very proud of myself and now rewarding my efforts with a caramel chocolate digestive.

@WateryDoom i hope you don’t have teenagers, I sorted all my plastic boxes a few weeks ago and a week later had all the missing parts miraculously reappear from their bedrooms/bags. So had to chuck all of those out too.

Plate and bowl drawer done!

Tins cupboard done! I've thinned the haricot and cannellini beans down to four tins of each. We haven't used either for over a year but had tonnes of them!

I found some Vitamin D tablets in with all my tins

Not sure they're much good these days though! 🤔

I've done such a great job that the massive (empty) polka dot cake tin now has its own drawer 😎

I even tidied the pull-out larder!

I could do with sorting through the spices really and dumping all the stale ones but I find it hard to know which ones are stale and which are fine. I go nose and taste blind after a while.

The top shelf looks a bit messy with all the half-open bags but it's hard to decant into storage boxes because I end up with storage boxes full of the stuff and then half-open bags anyway of the overspill that won't fit into the boxes. So, I'll have to live with the top shelf not being IG-worthy 😝

Love this. I had a big declutter over maternity leave but lost momentum when I went back to work. I will join you. Target 49 drawers and cupboards by 31 July as I'm away for 2 weeks in the middle.

1/49 done, bibs and receipts drawer. Threw away some receipts. It's a start!

No cupboards or drawers done here today, yet.

I'm toying with tackling one of the big ones on the weekend - under the stairs or the wardrobe or the junk drawer. So I'm kind of saving my energy up for that.

I haven't managed anything since my random drawer the other day - life is a constant round of appointments lately, so I think it's going to take me a good while to get round 🙄

That said, I may do one tomorrow - I only need to nip up the road to have blood taken & come straight home - fingers crossed I manage it 🤞

Children’s baby clothes all sorted through.
One bag to recycling.
Four bags to local baby bank (bit emotional but hope they go to a good home).
Saved two small piles of favourite baby clothes which I’m having made into blankets for each of them.

My pyjama drawer done today! For some reason it'd become a dumping place for perfumes my mum always buys me!

All the perfumes with just a dribble in, I dumped. All the perfumes that I don't like, I've put in the charity shop bag. All the others have gone in a vanity box in the spare bedroom which makes a lot more sense.

Unfortunately I have a penchant for giant fluffy PJs that don't fold neatly Marie Kondo style so I've had to improvise. It's not as neat as I wanted it, but it'll do.

I really am slacking - I was out most of today 🙈

I was just on a roll and the weather is hotting up. I’m crap once it reaches 24 degrees.

Ok, so I may not have cleared anything out but I did scrub the grout between some of the bathroom tiles. It's been a bit neglected while I've been ill.

I'm going to count that as my something for today if that's ok ✅️

Just spent a couple of hours clearing up stuff in the garage and scrubbing the floor. Not in any way finished but filled the trailer with stuff to take to the dump and cleared some space for me to be able to us the treadmill. Last ditch attempt for me to look slightly less beaches whale on holiday. 😂

I've done three drawers today, in the kitchen - cutlery, utensils, and tea towels/freezer bags/cloths. I forgot to take pics though & cba to move now.

Shit drawer maybe tomorrow. I have friends coming for a brew around midday so possibly not, depending on how I feel in the morning.

Following with interest, my house move (supposed to move on 16th) fell through on Friday so we spent time earlier in the week decluttering and clearing out. My big understair cupboard is now way emptier, got rid of about 12 tins of paint, four bags of clothing and a further 6 bags of general crap. I may be stuck in this house for longer, but at least there's a bit less junk in it!

@booomshackalack I'm so sorry that you're move fell through. Where does that leave you? But at least you've had an excuse to declutter.

I've done zero this weekend. Saturday just disappeared in a haze of gym, regular cleaning, ringing my mother and dog walking. The day just disappeared. And today's been too bloody hot. The dog's really suffering with the heat so I've spent nearly all of today giving her a hair cut in stages so she's carrying less fur around in the sun!

DP's at home tomorrow so no chance of de-cluttering then. But, Tuesday I've got a day of meetings here/there so I should find plenty of chances in between

I went into my under-stairs cupboard of doom today to look for a light bulb.

I found one!

But that spurred me on to tidy up the box I keep light bulbs in. And that spurred me on to tidy up the shelf I keep the box of light bulbs on. And that necessitated an entire tidy up of the whole cupboard.
