I always thought if you had a NDA in place it was forever, is this not the case? Seems weird to pay someone off for only a few years then they're free to say what they want.

It depends on the subject matter of the information that's being restricted @Cocolapew. For some information you can have an expiry date. For allegations like these, it would be bonkers to the NDA to expire rather than to be permanent. The way it works is that if there were to be an NDA between PS and a young employee, then if the young employee disclosed restricted information, PS could take him to court for an injunction if PS was really quick (don't breach High Court injunctions kids, at worst you could end up in prison), or if the barn door was open and the horse away across the fields, for damages. However, if the terms of the NDA were onerous, some or all of its power could be set aside by a court, or the NDA could be upheld but low or no damages awarded.

NDAs aren't absolute. They're breached all the time. But on balance sensible or powerless people consider it best to not do this to have a quiet life.

colouringindoors · 26/05/2023 23:20

So, SO many people knew.

Absolutely disgusting liars and hypocrites.

Im99912 · 26/05/2023 23:22

@Stellawella. Think of a summer holiday & you plonka
get over to Tattle there is loads on there on the “Phil’s done a runner” thread 😂

BonnyLassie99 · 26/05/2023 23:23

Stellawella · 26/05/2023 22:56

That could throw up anything though. There are thousands of threads with speculation. Can tin narrow things down at all?

I’ve had a look at the young guy’s linkedin profile -
He attended secondary school from 2007-2012 meaning that he was born in 1995-1996 (33/34 years PS’ junior) - and he started working for ITV in early 2016 which would have put him at 19 or so.

It’s ironic how he was a runner on most of the shows that Phil presented - Dancing On Ice, This Morning and 5 Gold Rings. Also worked on Loose Women as well which is transmitted from the same building after This Morning.

I think there’s more to come out for sure -
But it seems that the top brass at ITV have protected him for years - they need to go. Also Holly needs to go too - how can she carry on presenting with this all gone in - Phil has no doubt confided in Holly so would have been aware of what went on…

That said though, I don’t think the press - especially a certain Dan Wooton has learnt from 3 and half years ago when Caroline Flack committed suicide.

If Holly has any sense she'll go straight to BBC if they'll have her and make a new start. She can't keep continuing to present the same shows under this shadow and expect to retain any popularity.

So, IF you were to break an NDA, the best time would be on the Friday afternoon of a Bank Holiday weekend?

007DoubleOSeven · 26/05/2023 23:37

Unless actual evidence of grooming appears, or Schofield's lover makes a complaint then I really think it's time the public rumour let this die down.

So far, there's only vague rumour that anything illegally inappropriate took place. Schofield's career is in ruins, is further 'punishment' really necessary?

It's really become something of a witchunt now and, Schofield aside, the people who will be hurt from this the man he had an affair with and his children.

KatyKopykat · 26/05/2023 23:42

Carolyn McCall needs to go. Whatever you think of him Piers Morgan was expressing his own opinion that he didn't believe things Meghan Markle said. Yet they turn a blind eye to this sort of thing? I don't understand it.

billy1966 · 26/05/2023 23:45

So relieved he was "legal".🙄🤢

He makes my stomach churn....

He finally became untenable for ITV.

So glad ITV have been shown for their appalling judgement.

Oh grief. Is this going to be stomach churning?

IDK what the truth of any of these suggestions is but I do wonder how many more scandals are lying dormant and why they haven't broken.

TaylorSwiftFan · 26/05/2023 23:49

GHxx · 26/05/2023 21:55

I love that PS’s statement basically says my entire life has been a lie and I have lied to everyone about everything but what I did wasn’t illegal. So we’ve to believe what he’s saying now? Who’s to say whether it was or wasn’t legal at this point when the only info we seem to have to go on is from someone who’s just admitted to lying about absolutely everything!

That's what I was thinking! He will 100% have to "retire". No network/manager will want to deal with his reputation or be prepared to deal with a liar

I feel sorry for his wife and children

Has his agent dumped him?

Yes.
And there has to be really bad stuff happening for your agent to tell you to get lost.

Piers Morgan launched a personal attack on Meghan Markle when she said she was suicidal, on a prime time national news programme - that's more than expressing an opinion. He then through a giant man-baby tantrum on air when a fellow presenter called him out on his attack.

He deserved to go.

Cherryana · 26/05/2023 23:55

I remember this story about PS and this boy. I remember seeing the pics and the twitter tweets.

Then all of a sudden he came out and the story went away- and it was a blantant deflection of the runner story.
Joan Collins said her bit.
Rylan said it would come out etc

I can not remember how I found out in the first place was it mumsnet or some other blind site? Can anyone remember?

Cherryana · 26/05/2023 23:56

Piers Morgan makes me feel sick if I even catch a glimpse.

I remember reading an interview with Phillip Schofield in the late 80s / early 90s in Smash Hits or similar.

He said that his older sister and her friends used to practise kissing on him.

That's not normal, is it?

He hasn’t got a sister, just shows how these rumours start.

Irisheyesareshining · 27/05/2023 00:09

I remember 20 years ago at least my sister asking him for an autograph when she was with her kids he point blank and rudely refused . She said he was a horrible man way back then , this has always stuck with me as he appeared so nice on tv.

TowelRailing · 27/05/2023 00:12

Do a bit more thinking. Then post

OneFrenchEgg · 27/05/2023 00:13

That celeb interview really rings a bell about kissing practice! Tried google which ended up slightly unsavoury so it will remain a mystery. Not Schofield but I'm sure it was a magazine interview.

I lost my quote. This was in response to a post saying they didn’t understand why PS might be criticised when non famous people are not (for behaving in the same way)

I'm not suggesting he didn't. What I am saying is McCall showed appalling double standards.

I don't remember but it was mid to late February 2020 so Phil would have been thankful something bigger than him appeared to take the heat off.

CherryCokeFanatic · 27/05/2023 00:31

Do people think it may come out he is a nonce?
