But it hasn’t and won’t stop holidays in the sun. It’s a gorgeous sunny day where I am, and I’ve just started my holiday ☀️

Watch the video - they sprinkled some paint and spoke a few words. it all seems to be over in less that 3 minutes

Did they manage to raise Satan or doesn't it work without a pentangle?

Target's Pride collection product removal slammed by artist

Erik Carnell claims he was not told that many of his designs would be taken off shelves or moved to the back of stores. This action was taken following threats by right-wing extremists.

More info coming to light…

This was the Brewin Dolphin garden.
A wealth management fund managing $50bn of assets and a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, the LARGEST financier of the FOSSIL FUEL industry in 2022, providing $41bn.

Have you watched the hypernormalisation film?

People are being played as is described in that BBC film.

Philanthropist Aileen Getty, pictured here at a 2013 amfAR gala in Los Angeles, has funded climate activist groups such as Just Stop Oil, which glued their hands to the wall after throwing tomato soup over Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers (1888) at the Na...

Love the woman who hosed them down 😀I can't imagine many people there having a lot of sympathy. Hope nothing like this happens tomorrow when I visit.

It was the hosing that caused the permanent damage.

What they threw was poster paint which, if dry, could have been carefully swept/hoovered up, with a good chance of total removal.

Adding water meant it can't be removed.

Interesting!

Interestingly, if the powder paint hadn't been there in the first place the damage wouldn't have occured. The people to blame for causing the damage are those who put the paint down in the first place. Particularly as they didn't give any warning that the powder getting wet / any other actions taken to remove it / would cause further damage.

Correct.

But if you see a mess that can be cleared up, do you clear it appropriately, or choose an action that will make it irreparable? Their choice had consequences.

I most definitely do not applaud or "love" the person who introduced water to the situation, even though that situation should never have occurred.

YourFault · 26/05/2023 10:44

Those unwashed freaks have nothing better to do. I’m surprised no one had caved their head in yet.

Ahh, the posh over privileged scum bankrolled by the wealthy.

Not a surprise

It seems to me these posh scum activitists get high on their emotional activism without taking responsibility for the outcomes of their behaviour.

Interesting that so many are witnessing the greatest crime in history: extinction by fossil fuel use. And talking about powder paint…

That famous “bystanders” psychology experiment - where the more people witness a crime, the less likely they are to help the victim - is happening now with the climate crisis. Are you on the side of fossil fuel CEOs' bonuses or a liveable planet for your children?

I think the British are on the whole, generally more law abiding than that. Although as net zero takes hold, people get hungry and cold, then this will change.

MissTrip82 · 26/05/2023 10:51

I imagine events like this do have quite a negative environmental impact.

I find it bizarre there are posters who think this ‘damages the cause’. Surely no rational intelligent person changes their views on climate change because they consider a protest silly or misguided? Only a fool would be swayed like that.

I think a more considered rational response is required, rather the hysterical out of control rush towards self destruction.

Although I agree with their cause I can't help but wonder how many or them are total hypocrites. How many of them are about to jet off with their parents for the summer, for example? I'd love to know how these people live their lives when we're not watching. Most of us find it difficult to change the lifestyles we've been used to for so long. I'm sure they're not any different. Tell me you don't use planes or cars anymore and I'll be so impressed I'll listen. Throwing orange paint over a garden is not enough to make me listen to you.

Not many - I would think. The people that I know who are involved with JSO are Quakers, older and don't have cars. They also haven't flown in a very long time.

The think is that the longer we ignore this problem (Global Warming) the harder it is going to be, we've gone past avoiding the worst of it, now we are in the territory of adaptation. Climate collapse is imminent and we are still blaming the wrong people. We've squandered years with petty infighting and sneering at activists. It's frankly terrifying.

10% of all emissions are the fashion industry, a lot of aviation emissions are private jets. We'll be digging for victory (or just to avoid starvation) soon and we will be contending with catastrophic weather events yearly. The planet will live on, we may not.

And yet we're still worried about a bit of orange paint on a pavement?

FTR Iast flew in 2016, I haven't bought any new clothes for years except PPE for work, I have an allotment and I have a pedal bike for transport. I don't live a deprived life - I eat well and I live well - it can be done, it's just hard because everything is geared up for a car and fossil fuel economy. I would rather we keep the oil and gas for our essential services - we need plastic in the NHS and other primary care etc, and we learned to manage without/did things differently.

jlpartnerrs · 26/05/2023 10:59

Also - if you do care but you don't agree with the action, perhaps take a look at this :

Home - The Climate Majority Project

Take positive climate action that rises to the occasion. Together, we are trying to catalyze exactly that.

Has this board been overrun with Telegraph frothers?

I was actually being lenient with "rightly incarcerated". 😘

I gather troll hunting is against the rules, is that the thing, you disagree with some one and try to silence this way?

RhinoMoveFast · 26/05/2023 11:24

Fancy being so threatened by some else's opinion and the information we came across in life that you want to stop people viewing something available to all in iplayer, why does it scare you if people watch it?

savory · 26/05/2023 11:25
