I'm going through some shit and need to cry but can't so am resorting to watching whatever it takes to kick it off.

I'm watching 'Its a sin' at the moment, episode 3...

I don't want to be asked what's wrong just ideas of what to watch. Thank you.

Is Firefly Lane like Virgin River and This is us. It’s been mentioned a few times on this thread

Read the thread on here about memories of grandparents. I just cried at it.

Most of my have already been said:

Marley and me (I'm not even keen on dogs)
Green mile
It's a sin
Steel magnolias
This is us.
So many ER episodes
Beginning of Up

I love a good cry.

Inside Number 9, series 2 episode 2 on BBC iPlayer

Urgh, I can cry just thinking about this episode of Inside No 9, I wasn't prepared at all the first time I saw it. It's such an underrated series really.

I can also recommend Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room (Series 4 ep 2) for a good old weep.

About Time.

I put it on a few days after my Dad died, not knowing the plot and thinking a nice Richard Curtis rom com might do me some good. Big fucking mistake.

Ricky Gervais in After life

BSB30 · 15/05/2023 00:15

Criminal Minds - the episode where Hayley Hotchner gets killed. Gets me every time.

Friarclose · 15/05/2023 00:15

Firefly Lane especially the last episode, oh my word

Bumdealoftheweek · 15/05/2023 00:35

Why has noone mentioned Gorillas in the Mist or Million Dollar Baby. Both made me sob. And Gran Torino - brilliant film.

QueenBitch666 · 15/05/2023 01:06

The Joy Luck Cub. Watched it today for the first time in ages. Had forgotten several scenes bring on the tears...

Superb acting, btw.

The saddest film I ever saw was Dancer in the Dark with Bjork. Started crying half way through and didn't stop.

Harrowing 😫

A Dog's Purpose

IncyWincyGrownUp · 15/05/2023 04:08

Sense and Sensibility, the bit where Alan Rickman is utterly broken and demands a task of Emma Thompson. Kills me every time.

CoffeeAndEnnui · 15/05/2023 04:10

Meet Joe Black. A genuinely beautiful (and funny) film about family, the nature of love and dealing with death, with Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins. It makes me do proper boo-hoo hiccuping ugly cries every single time I watch it. Guaranteed weepie.
