I'm going through some shit and need to cry but can't so am resorting to watching whatever it takes to kick it off.

I'm watching 'Its a sin' at the moment, episode 3...

I don't want to be asked what's wrong just ideas of what to watch. Thank you.

A short one; "If anything happens I love you" on Netflix. Watched it just after another school shooting without knowing what it was about, and was sobbing so hard I couldn't breathe..

One of the most beautiful things I’ve watched and one of the closest depictions of the grief of losing a child.

Thanks, I will watch it next, looks like it is just 2 series, I'm usually late watching things

"Good night Mr.Tom" with John Thaw....if that doesn't have you reaching for the tissues, nothing will!

Criminal Minds - the episode where Hayley Hotchner gets killed. Gets me every time.

I could not cope with that episode !

codegeass · 15/05/2023 10:14

Grave of the Fireflies
Warrior (2008) (Nick Nolte's acting is out of this word there)

If you're a West Wing Fan...the few episodes at the end of S7 when Leo dies, because John Spencer had just actually died. I made the mistake of watching on a plane and sobbed all the way across the Atlantic.

Another vote for Inside Number 9, S2 Ep2. Made me cry both times I saw it.

Oh man, I just finished a rewatch of The West Wing and I cried a LOT at those eps... I cried when they first aired as well, cause John Spencer had JUST DIED! And now every time I rewatch it.

Lewis kissing Morse goodbye. Sad

😪

Arrival. The soundtrack is also brilliant.
Marley and Me, for the 50th time.
Atonement

The episode of Upstart Crow about the death of Hamnet. The start is funny as usual, then by the last scene I was sobbing. Brilliant writing.

Lansonmaid · 15/05/2023 17:48

The final scenes of Gallipoli and The Mission. Came out of the cinema in floods of years after both films.

TragicTess · 15/05/2023 17:49

A monster calls - I can’t even describe the story without crying.

I love a good cry…so cathartic. Hope some of these suggestions have helped.

Barleymilk · 15/05/2023 17:50

A dogs purpose (life)
I start welling up at the start of the last scene long before anything happens,it gets to me every time.

The way we were - Barbara Streisand . What a film! The ending has me crying everytime !

Mumof118 · 26/12/2023 20:44

Anything! I think I’m slightly over emotional at the moment.

OwlWeiwei · 26/12/2023 20:46

Lion.

Started crying at the start and didn't stop. I literally soaked my way through three packets of tissues, watching that on a plane.

I actually can;t watch that. It's too upsetting. Brilliant, but too painful.

Sorry for derailing but I find it puzzling. All that 'I love your girl, Hubble' after she sees him by chance. Are we to understand he hasn't seen her or his child in the intervening years?
