I'm going through some shit and need to cry but can't so am resorting to watching whatever it takes to kick it off.

I'm watching 'Its a sin' at the moment, episode 3...

I don't want to be asked what's wrong just ideas of what to watch. Thank you.

Long lost family episodes

Another vote for A Monster Calls. The book is even more heart wrenching. I was stupid enough to read it on a plane.

YourFault · 14/05/2023 21:37

Awful suggestions so far. You want to watch A Silent Voice. That makes the toughest people cry from the first 10 mins

A short one; "If anything happens I love you" on Netflix. Watched it just after another school shooting without knowing what it was about, and was sobbing so hard I couldn't breathe..

The saddest film I have ever seen is 21 Grams. It's an absolutely brilliant film with some phenomenal acting and screenplay, but it is unbelievably gut-wrenching.

Actually maybe followed by Mystic River.

Both films have the brilliant Sean Pean in them.

The end of ET.
The end of Toy Story 3.

A Monster Calls book. I've never seen the film, but it's the only book I've ever finished, put down, and sobbed for what felt like a very long time. I don't think I'll be watching the film.

CreamTeaThievery · 14/05/2023 22:00

Armageddon and The green mile. I once watched the two of them back to back and my duvet could have been wrong out it was that wet from big snotty tears!

RaininSummer · 14/05/2023 22:03

If you really want to go hard-core crying, there is only one film.

Who will love my children

Even my tough farming mother was in bits. I made my friend watch it few years ago, she cried her makeup off and just kept repeating "wtf have you made me watch" 😀
