If you could choose your breast size- what size would you be?

I had a mastectomy a few years ago now need to get another one and I can't have reconstruction for a year.
Anyway on a lighter note I get to choose 2 new prosthesis in any size I want!
I've always been rather large so was thinking of going down from an F to a C/D?
If you could choose your size what would you choose?

I’d love to go back to being a B or maybe a small C. As a shorty (5’1) I feel my DD boobs are too much on me. They used to be D but I’m on medication for my acne which made them grow. Don’t get me wrong, I love my clear skin but I’m considering lowering my dose in the hope my breasts shrink a bit.

The worst part for me is clothes that used to fit me at the same weight are now too tight in the chest area.

"It’s because technically a size 8 top wouldn’t fit a 34 inch back. I’d bet your actual back tape measure measurement isn’t 34 inches."

QED

I know, but I also know I’m right! 😂 it’s just how clothes sizing works.

(I also used to wear a 34 inch back as a size 8, it turned out that the lack of support was the cause of my back pain.)

I'm a 40G, would love to be a smaller cup size, maybe a D/DD? I'm a larger lady and suit tops/dresses that cut under my boobs, but I really struggle to find ones with enough space for my boobs!

I'm a G/H It's hell (especially because I also have a fairly narrow ribcage. Finding bras is a nightmare, it's a lot of weight on my back etc).

Clothes always have to be taken in at the waist, or I end up looking pregnant (Nothing wrong with being pregnant and showing. But I'm not!)

I am currently considering a reduction...

I think a size DD / E would be very nice.

ALongHardWinter · 01/06/2023 17:20

I'm a 42 E. I'd rather be 36 C.

Goldencup · 01/06/2023 17:32

32 D here, they are perfect for me

Unloved1 · 01/06/2023 17:47

Im a 36dd atm. On a normal cool day, im happy with a c cup....on a roasting hot day ill prefer a....🤣🤣

SmartHome · 01/06/2023 17:49

Also considering a reduction. If a 38 DD/E and would love to be something like a 34 B. I doubt it's possible though so I would go as small as possible.

I'm an F. Would love to be a B. I hate having big boobs. I think clothes just look better on a smaller bust and hate having to worry about bras in strappy clothes. In my opinion, not trying to offend anyone who likes bigger ones.

Ditto. Or even an a.

Your band size won't change though. If you're a 38, you'll still be a 38 after a reduction. It'll be the cup size that changes.

JandalsAlways · 02/06/2023 01:55

Small D.

There’s an unwillingness on Mumsnet to accept that any woman could have a cup size smaller than a C. You absolutely must be wearing the wrong size bra. Never mind that you’ve been measured and tried out several bras with painfully small bands, and the woman telling you you’re in the wrong bra has never seen you and has no idea about your body shape. ‘YOU NEED A SMALLER BAND AND A BIGGER CUP’

Nope. Some of us just have teeny tiny breasts.

The post you’ve quoted has nothing to do with cup sizes. Of course a woman on Mumsnet can have a cup size that is C or smaller. It means the difference between their back size and their bust is three inches or less.

The quoted post is referring to clothes and back sizes. If someone has a 34 inch back measurement then it is very unlikely indeed for them to be a size eight top.

Lottie4 · 02/06/2023 08:35

I'm 32A, for many years I'd liked to have been 32B. Mid-late 50s now and really don't care about my small size.

OP, I understand it'll take a bit of adjustment, but if you're looking at being able to get nice bras, so down to whatever size can accommodate that. Don't forget you'll need and deserve some new tops for your new size.

BogRollBOGOF · 02/06/2023 09:13

I like my 30Cs. There's something there, but is easy to manage for exercise. Other than going up to 34F twice when BFing (which was awkward as tops big enough to cover the front were saggy on the back) I've been fairly consistent through adult life, but wasted my youth being flattened in 34As and 32Bs because those sizes just flatten my little handfuls around my chest. It's still awkward finding backs in 30s and worse, 28s (I've got a 28D which looks really busty by my standards)

Knowing your back size is important, and the cup is the difference between your back and bust.

Mary46 · 02/06/2023 09:43

Im E love to be c or d. Hard to fit summer dresses as alot them have slip straps. So much easier being smaller clothes wise

queenofthewild · 02/06/2023 09:57

I'm a 32B and wouldn't change the size at all.

Would love my hips and arse to be in proportion though. They are rather larger than they should be.

EBearhug · 02/06/2023 10:20

38A. I don't actually want to change, but I would like more bra manufacturers to make bras that don't start at a B cup.

blondiepigtails · 03/06/2023 12:07

@EBearhug have actually measured your rib cage under your boobs? Does it measure 38 or is it less? If it measures 36 then you’d be a 36B which would give you more options. Don’t forget that a new bra should always be on its loosest hooks to start with and not ride up your back. If you already know all this, then apologies but so many women don’t and are in the wrong bra.

MissMogwai · 03/06/2023 12:23

I've always had big boobs despite my weight but covid weight gain took me up to 38GG. Bloody massive.

34DD was the perfect size for my frame and I looked in proportion. Also bras and swim wear were more easily available and affordable.

Back on my way down as on a massive healthy kick and losing weight. Now 36G - still massive but more manageable.

Beautiful3 · 03/06/2023 12:52

I've been a b, c and d. B was the best size.

continentallentil · 03/06/2023 12:53

Somewhere between a B and a D depending on build and dress style.

EBearhug · 03/06/2023 22:55

@EBearhug have actually measured your rib cage under your boobs?

Yes, I have. Still, being small of cup means I can often go bra-free, which isn't the case for those at the other end of the spectrum, where bra manufacturers also don't want to cater for them.

To be fair, not many size 8s literally only fit people with a 32 inch chest measurement - there is a lot of vanity sizing.

I used to be a 30F (so 37 inch chest) and fit in a size 8 very easily.

BodyKeepingScore · 05/06/2023 13:51

I'm currently 30E which I'm happy with. People hear "E Cup" and think massive. That's not the case, especially on smaller back sizes. I'd like to be perkier but that's a whole other story 🤣
