If you could choose your breast size- what size would you be?

I had a mastectomy a few years ago now need to get another one and I can't have reconstruction for a year.
Anyway on a lighter note I get to choose 2 new prosthesis in any size I want!
I've always been rather large so was thinking of going down from an F to a C/D?
If you could choose your size what would you choose?

Currently a 32JJ with very narrow shoulders. Basically no off the shelf bras fit me regardless of brand or shape of bra. It's awful.

I'd love to be a 32D.

Staggersaurus · 06/05/2023 17:48

A nice perky b for me please!

they are currently like 2 roll mop herrings which when contained are a dd

TheIsleOfTheLost · 06/05/2023 17:51

I was an A pre kids. I think about a D now, with wider backgrounds too, so actually more than 3 sizes bigger. I don't wear bras now, except for work, and then it's the stretchy comfort kind. I honestly think I wouldn't choose reconstruction at all if I had a mastectomy as I don't particularly want books and it would be another surgery. Easy to say when it's not something I have been through of course.

I'm usually a D or DD but right now have enormous comedy breastfeeding boobs.

I'd love it if they shrank down to a C cup when I'm done.

SummerSazz · 06/05/2023 18:06

I used to wear a 36D. Am actually a 34E and much better fitting bra

RampantIvy · 06/05/2023 18:06

It interesting to hear a lot of people would go smaller.

That's because most mumsnetters seem to have huge boobs

TulipTuesday · 06/05/2023 18:08

I’m a 32F/34E depending on the bra style. I love my boobs. They’re big enough without looking ridiculous or matronly.

RampantIvy · 06/05/2023 18:08

I forgot to say - good luck with your operation @Boxshibe 💐

BeenThereTooo · 06/05/2023 18:11

A good consultant should be able to advise you on this in proportion to your body shape.

LindorDoubleChoc · 06/05/2023 18:11

32A with a body to match for me please. I'm actually 38DD.

StaySpicy · 06/05/2023 18:11

Probably a B. I'm currently an E.

Good luck with your op, @Boxshibe I hope it all goes well.

underneaththeash · 06/05/2023 18:12

Mine are perfect now (although I have bf 3 children so they could be a but more pert!) 34D.

I’m a 28FF and hate them - they get in the way if I do any kind of exercise

That the same size as me and I don’t find them a problem. I’m in the gym five days a week.

That’s nice for you.

I'm quite happy with what I have - 34F. It sounds really big, because I think it was very unusual to wear a correctly fitting bra when I was growing up and a C or D cup was considered big (I'm going back to the days of page 3 girls), but it's not really. I fill my clothes, I can buy nice bras, my breasts are unnoticeable.

Really? Cause Im a 34 FF/G and I am positively MASSIVE!
Like... people notice that I have absolutely gigantic boobs. I tend to wear stretchy materials, cause otherwise I look like a tent, and Id say they are very noticeable.
And sure, I can buy nice bras, but they are also expensive!

Id love to be able to go to the supermarket and just buy a pretty, cheap, bra!

So, in response to the OP, Id like to go back to a 34D (havent been that size since I was roughly 20)

Gtsr443 · 06/05/2023 18:22

I had a double mastectomy 15 years ago. I tried all manner of prostheses which were uncomfortable and made me feel like a drag queen. Never wanted reconstruction. Very soon I just decided to live totally flat. At my biggest I was D cup. I love being breastless so zero breasts in my answer.
(Good luck OP. Keep well).

Kyse · 06/05/2023 18:28

@ASGIRC I think it depends on your frame and shape too
Like people notice I have big boobs but because M&S do such a shit job at measuring, people would guess I'm a 40G or something
Until I put a bikini on and then it's evident they're big!
This is at a 34K and heavier than usual (17 stone ish)

myveryownelectrickitten · 06/05/2023 18:28

i’ve always been quite large - even at my thinnest I was a 32DD, and after kids I’m now a 34GG 😟 Since I can remember I’ve always wanted to just be a neat 34B and be able to not wear a bra if I want. So I’d go for that!

SmartHome · 06/05/2023 18:29

I think I'd be the same. Im DD/E now and I'd go down to B at most or maybe A or not bother at all. Very personal choice I know but I've always hated having large breasts. I'd have a reduction tomorrow if I had the cash spare. Good luck with everything.

Madamecastafiore · 06/05/2023 18:35

I did 34C and am v happy.

SoupDragon · 06/05/2023 18:41

I think 34D for me. I think most regular bra designs go up to a D don't they? That would be my wish - readily available attractive bras!

good luck OP!

SoupDragon · 06/05/2023 18:42

Actually, having seen the comment about 34 B and going braless, I'll have that!

InTheFutilityRoomEatingBiscuits · 06/05/2023 18:44

I have 30E and sometimes 32dd depending on style. I consider my breasts small. I often don’t wear a bra. I don’t have a sports bra even though I go running and do exercise classes because they just make me sweaty. For running I usually wear a primark bralette to stop nipple rub.

My oldest DD17 is currently 28E and has a beautiful figure but constantly bemoans her lack of breasts, and I feel guilty about passing on the lack of boobage (although of course she looks great)

so it’s interesting to see others want to be significantly smaller? How much smaller can they get?

MorrisZapp · 06/05/2023 18:48

Primark have stunning neon bras in just now, no point in me even considering them. I'd happily kiss goodbye to my current G cups and go to a D. D seems pretty well catered for in mainstream shops, and a comfier weight to carry and to dress for.

Honestly, your size sounds PERFECT! It would compare to a 34D, which is what I would love to have.

Bigger isnt better. Though I wouldnt consider your breasts small. A good handful, but not small.

Mine are like melons!
