Charles & Anne were only present for a small part of their mother's coronation.

TheCreamTeaWasFromMe · 06/05/2023 12:39

Anyone else having a good singalong to the hymns? Testing my memory a bit as I'm an atheist and it's years since I left school!

Bouledeneige · 06/05/2023 12:39

George might try and run away from home tonight knowing what he's in for...

Mordaunt could at least have had one of those holder things that flag bearers get.

Surely we're not going to have Holy Communion for too many people now?

She had one initially but took it off and handed it over when she first handed the sword over. Her arms must be in bits by now.

SecretsIWouldNeverTell · 06/05/2023 12:40

I'm a bit confused about the comments saying 'I'm still in my nightdress,' and 'I'm still in my pyjamas,' and 'I'm still in my dressing gown...' Why wouldn't you be? Confused This started more or less at 9.30-10:00 AM on a Saturday morning. What would you be wearing on any normal Saturday morning? Not long after getting up? Your night attire I'd imagine !

Do you think you should be fully dressed in a suit and tie? Or a Pantsuit, or a cocktail dress? Or a smart skirt and freshly ironed cotton blouse and stilettoes....? To watch the coronation in your own house at 10:00 o'clock in the morning??? You're in your own house! 😂

Fudgewomble · 06/05/2023 12:40

Best hymn ever. Loved Camilla’s lady in waiting singing along in a jolly way as she walked out

Nope! If they sang give me oil in my lamp keep me burning or all things bright and beautiful I'd be on it though.

NOTANUM · 06/05/2023 12:41

The choice of music could have mixed up some recognisable stuff as well. This is the first I’ve burst into song for.

slamfightbrightlight · 06/05/2023 12:41

Well impressed with Penny’s stamina holding that sword, and her outfit.

This one was our school hymn 😁

Well I am wondering if I should have at least put knickers on to be a bit more respectful 😁

CruCru · 06/05/2023 12:41

If QEII had a coronation that was twice as long then that’s ridiculous. FOUR HOURS?!?

polkadotdalmation · 06/05/2023 12:41

Did they whip Louis out?

feellikeanalien · 06/05/2023 12:41

I love this hymn.

SockGoddess · 06/05/2023 12:41

DysonSpheres · 06/05/2023 12:38

Poor Louis it's genuinely hard for him.

Yes, the other two (especially Charlotte) seem to take it all in their stride, even when younger, but Louis doesn’t seem like he’s cut out for tolerating tedious ceremonies. I love how he always makes his feeling clear.

Me too. I had high hopes for these descants at the final verse of Praise Him too.

Up at 6am so I'm dressed (not in stilettos though!). I'd love a lie-in but we have animals to look after so sadly not an option. To be fair I do look scruffy though so PJs would probably be smarter!

InglouriousBasterd · 06/05/2023 12:42

Anyone know why the choristers are wearing different uniforms? Just out of interest!

Allwelcone · 06/05/2023 12:39

Late to the thread- has it already been said that those 70 year old ladies in waiting look a tad silly in their white dresses?
Loving the music though

Why do you think they look silly. Older ladies can wear posh frocks in any colour you know.

WeWereInParis · 06/05/2023 12:42

Yep! Or when I needed a neighbour

cafenoirbiscuit · 06/05/2023 12:42

Where is Louis? Looks like he’s disappeared

Bouledeneige · 06/05/2023 12:42

Nice of them to play my school hymn

Inadvertentlyspring · 06/05/2023 12:42

I sang this ALL the time at school!

You've never heard Zadok the priest before??

LadyWhineglass · 06/05/2023 12:42

Saw Puppah and Pa Middleton. No Carole?

I just noticed that, I've been popping in and out and can see he's not there now
