They had several hundred dukes come and swear allegiance individually, like William did today. That would have taken ages. Glad they cut that down!

Different schools. The ones in the white and red are from the Chapel Royal in Windsor (making this up bit it sounds plausible).

The King cut quite a lot of it out apparently ( I heard a historian say this yesterday on tv)

I think because they have been brought together from several different choirs, so wearing their own official "uniform" to represent where they're from?

I think I saw a PP saying that there are different choirs singing, so the robes/uniforms may differ between them?

Funny to think how close the Middletons will be to the Crown eventually.

They are from a mixture of choirs - Westminster Abbey, Chapel Royal, Truro Cathedral et al

Phew more glorious singing. The choir have bossed it all day.

Deposit being an atheist all my life it appears my CofE primary school did a good job because not only did I remember all the words of The Lords Prayer but a good few of these hymns as well. They do need to do a few more upbeat ones though. Maybe the 'sing hosannah' one (I realise that's probably not how you spell it)

Do all the guests just go home after this? Or is there a reception somewhere?
