What modifications would you like to make to the human body?

I don't mean bigger/smaller breats, liposuction or anything of that nature but helpful additions.

I wish that there was a reflex that'd stop you biting your tongue when eating or sneezing.

It'd be great if when you experience a pain or nausea, if your brain could tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it e.g drink more water, see a Dr, you need rest etc.

And teeth that replace themselves would be wonderful.

Oh and if you could get a period over with in an hour or at least one day, that'd be great.

What modifications would you make?

What would you add?

Birth, well a whole rethink needed on that I would think

I'm a delivery suite midwife, we had 10 women deliver their babies on my night shift last night.

8 had emergency sections and 2 had forceps in theatre. Not a single normal vaginal delivery.

I don't know what the answer is!? Laying eggs instead?

Funny you say this, I always thought laying an egg would be a brilliant idea! Or maybe you guve birth to a tiny baby that just pops out then you have an external pouch where it grows like a kangaroo/joey. If you don't mind me asking, did any if these people go into labour naturally? How many were induced?

A sphincter that neatly crimps off turds in a clean and hygienic manner, negating the need for the money and faff of toilet paper.

Thats actually the original design. Its just that our bodies arent this healthy anymore.

Actually isn't this why squatting is better? I think thats the correct way to be sitting when going to the toilet for our bodies

The answer is to allow women to have all the privacy, time and support they need for it to happen. The medical approach is not working, its actually stopping the natural progress.
Sorry I dont seem to be able to find the right words to say what I want in English.

I never thought of it this way but as the squatting position helps a better defecation reflex I guess it also helps with cleanliness.

Thinking about it more, I use the toilet stool and dont usually need much toilet paper. Perhaps even less since I started exercises for pelvic floor.

no menopausal symptoms, periods or menstrual cramps but still ability to have children

being able to maintain a healthy weight whilst eating as much as you want, no need for diet, surgery, medication etc.

Replace vagina's with something else. They are so badly designed. They are warm, moist, don't get any sunlight, a crevice, it's a perfect breeding ground for bacteria.

If you did this in the garden you'd get all sorts of nasties growing. At least a penis has all its bits outside.

I’d like to grow an extra hand/arm for every child you have after 2.

I have always said this.

Minimooncat · 30/04/2023 10:40

You would have a button in your tummy you press once a day at a convenient time to do a poo/big wee. So you would never be caught out when out and about.

allthelittlelights · 30/04/2023 11:17

Wings and anus much further away from urethra and vagina.

Agree with you totally, intervention leads to more intervention but this isn't really communicated alot ime

Apparently that why now there are so many bowel issues in modern times, like haemorrhoids etc because of the western toilet.

Having an efficent sphinter on the urethra,

Men's penis's only able function in response to a woman wishing for its presence. Never ever in a state of aggression such as war, or DV.

Newnamenewname109870 · 30/04/2023 19:44

Decent backs. Humans have terrible backs that don’t support them properly.

Wonderful in theory, but how would the body differentiate if the intended complementary part was to be the man's own hand - or indeed another (consenting) man's body?

Flip it on its head - how acceptable would it be if a woman couldn't have a bit of 'intimate me-time' unless a man gave her permission?

Our backs would support us if we behaved the way we were designed for,
ie not sitting so much but moving around, not wearing shoes that not only deform ourfeet but stop them functioning properly which naturally causes back problems or headaches, breathing properly which is also necessary for the body to support itself.

Even with this in place the human back still isn’t designed that well.

Something that eases the nightmare that is teething! Maybe just doing it in utero.

RoseRobot · 30/04/2023 22:20

When my twins were small I used to think it was a serious design fault that women didn't grow at least one extra set of arms during pregnancy - one or two pairs to hold babies and another pair to get on with everything else.

Failingatthemoment · 30/04/2023 22:41

Turn of sense of smell. Also turn off pain

cheesywotsit62 · 30/04/2023 22:56

I always, always wish for an automatic ‘switch’ to go to sleep! Would save so much hassle.
