What modifications would you like to make to the human body?

I don't mean bigger/smaller breats, liposuction or anything of that nature but helpful additions.

I wish that there was a reflex that'd stop you biting your tongue when eating or sneezing.

It'd be great if when you experience a pain or nausea, if your brain could tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it e.g drink more water, see a Dr, you need rest etc.

And teeth that replace themselves would be wonderful.

Oh and if you could get a period over with in an hour or at least one day, that'd be great.

What modifications would you make?

What would you add?

I'd like a retractable cover on my ears (like an eyelid) that would block out sounds when needed. I'm a light sleeper who can't sleep with any noise, so I often think this is a design fault.

Renewable fluid around joints, so I don't get Eg knee pain.

yoga4meinthemorning · 29/04/2023 10:08

Bones that don't break

Teeth that regrow

Hair that doesn't grow so fast and no leg or arm hair

Sweat that doesn't smell

Better senses so we can tell when food will make us ill

Eyes that don't become long sighted in middle age

No periods

Longer gestation, shorter babyhood

No propensity for obesity- less appetite to overeat, less emotional connection to food

If men were flexible enough to get their dicks in their mouths so many of the worlds problems would be solved.

An automatic 'get dressed' button no more dicking about washing, drying hair, putting makeup on and finding a bastarding outfit that fits every bloody day

Aren’t our bodies designed to return to the heaviest weight we’ve been? I’d get rid of that fucker.

Teeth are a huge design flaw and often our mouths are too small to house them all.

Is that a thing? Or an excuse?

TonTonMacoute · 29/04/2023 13:14

The whole joint thing is not fit for purpose. Knees etc shouldn’t wear out so much

Definitely vote for better knees!

takeasadsongandmakeitbetter · 29/04/2023 15:22

Definitely strengthen nipples on women!! Why are they so sensitive - no good for breastfeeding

And as previously mentioned- birth needs a massive revamp!!

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 29/04/2023 15:43

But if I can't do that then I want everything to work perfectly from birth and never degrade - especially eyesight, teeth, skin, digestive system, joints, ligaments, hair.

Get rid of male/female and go hermaphrodite with bits that work either way whenever you choose.

And add some wings - fun, plus save the planet 'cos no need for cars or planes.

But if nothing ever degraded, nobody would ever die - so would you set a quota of 'enough' people after which no more children are ever allowed, or a self-kill button (or automated function) to activate at a certain age?

I'm loving the idea of double knees that can make it look like you're entering a room when you're actually leaving it!

happinessischocolate · 29/04/2023 15:47

Ever renewing teeth

Eyesight and hearing not deteriorating would be excellent.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 29/04/2023 15:54

Are we thinking ever-renewing teeth with a built-in gauge to know when they need to grow and when to stop, or ones like hamsters, where we'd have to be gnawing at a block of wood all the time?

MattDamon · 29/04/2023 15:59

Certain pain levels are completely disproportionate to what is happening in the body. My arm was ripped off? Sure, that should hurt. But stubbed my toe? Migraine? Menstrual cramps? Do these really need to be so painful?

CharlotteDoyle · 29/04/2023 16:14

Night vision
Gills
Pellet poo (like deer)

mrswhiplington · 29/04/2023 16:18

A switch connected to the brain that deletes bad memories.

usernother · 29/04/2023 16:19

Bladders would be leak proof

Sugarfish · 29/04/2023 16:21

I’d like teeth to be better. The current design is not good enough. They need to be made out of something that doesn’t easily get holes in, break or disintegrate. They shouldn’t need a nerve in them. They should just sit in your mouth nice and strong and pain free forever!

Sugarfish · 29/04/2023 16:26

I’d also change birth. When the baby is ready it could slide out easily. Always seemed so unfair to me they something so necessary to keep the population going had to be so bloody hard and painful. Also the vagina would go straight back to how it was pre birth.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 29/04/2023 16:27

Far more efficient heat-redistribution. Sweating in a thick coat while your hands/head/legs are freezing should not be a thing.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 29/04/2023 18:16

It'd be good to just lay an egg when you want a baby. So no need for pregnancy at all. The egg would be big enough to allow the baby to grow a lot bigger so it can start walking straight away, like animals do.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 29/04/2023 18:16

I'd also like a tail. It'd come in very handy when both hands are full.

Lovegossip · 29/04/2023 18:47

Eliminating periods would be a good start!

BigUpAllOfUshereOnMN · 29/04/2023 21:55

Eliminate need to eat and drink. If you don't eat or drink you won't die

A stronger reinforced spine and back. No more slipped discs or trapped nerves

A push button system on skin where hair will fall out. Eg, press hips and all the leg hair will fall out if you so wish. Maybe good idea to keep hair during winter for warmth

Keep pressing nails for instant painted nails. Keep pressing to flick through the colours and chose one

Eliminate need to sleep. Lack of sleep will not ruin your health. You can choose to sleep if you wanted to tune out for a while

Surpriseparty · 29/04/2023 22:14

An extra couple of fingers close to the anus, so that you can unobtrusively scratch your bum when you are out shopping or in a restaurant.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/04/2023 22:15

An extra pair of arms and hands should grow during your first pregnancy.

JandalsAlways · 29/04/2023 22:33

I hate going to the toilet. It would be great of there was some kind of odourless bag that you could pull out and just throw away. Even though I do enjoy food, maybe get away from food completely, it would resolve that issue and be quite a time saver in terms of shopping, cooking, eating and clean up!

JandalsAlways · 29/04/2023 22:34

JudyGemstone · 28/04/2023 15:06

A sphincter that neatly crimps off turds in a clean and hygienic manner, negating the need for the money and faff of toilet paper.

This is good too. Odourless and silent turds please!

timeforanc123 · 30/04/2023 00:26

Birth, well a whole rethink needed on that I would think

I'm a delivery suite midwife, we had 10 women deliver their babies on my night shift last night.

8 had emergency sections and 2 had forceps in theatre. Not a single normal vaginal delivery.

I don't know what the answer is!? Laying eggs instead?
