What were you doing when the alarm went off?

I was at my daughters birthday party. It went over the entertainers blue tooth speakers as well as everyone's phone.

Writing an essay in a very quiet but but fairly busy uni library.
Most peoples phones went off, everyone just muted and ignored it.

At work, I was suprised how short it was. Nobody at home got the alert, so if we are there during an adverse event, we will have to rely on sense of smell and the village gossips Grin

I was shopping in Boots. It gave me a right shock as it was so loud. Mine happened at 2.59 and then DH's phone went off a few minutes later.

Are you going to believe the official line, or nutters conspiracy theorists? The choice is yours.

There are loads of countries in the world that use these alerts. To be honest, in my own personal view, one of the reasons they may have introduced them is because they know we are in for more extreme weather events in future, largely due to climate change.

Welcoming a tired smelly dc 3 home from scout camp. While trying to calm asd dc1 down who was pacing the floor waiting for an alarm that never came. Dc refused to switch it off phone 'because if it was a real emergency I'd need to know'.

Driving.
I want to know what is the real reason for this alarm. I don’t accept that it’s for flood or wildfire, I don’t accept that.

Is there impending attacks that the government know about, and if we are attacked, what’s the fucking point in an alarm going off on a phone? What can we do? Where can we go? How the fuck do we protect ourselves?
It’s like the bomb warning in the war.

Oh calm down FFS, other countries have had this in place for YEARS, we're massively behind, there's no conspiracy. In most places it's used to find missing kids or whatever, you're not about to be nuked 🙄

I was on a busy train. They went off in batches with about 30 seconds in between till about 15.01. Mine was in the first batch at 14.59
