I was at my daughters birthday party. It went over the entertainers blue tooth speakers as well as everyone's phone.

Making a Greek salad for lunch

Rainbow1901 · 23/04/2023 18:58

I forgot! and was hoovering! Saw the alert when I checked my phone later on.

Mumzoo5070 · 23/04/2023 18:59

Chatting to an 80's pop star on Twitter.

bluechameleon · 23/04/2023 19:00

I was sitting outside a cafe in a group of 6. 4 people's phones went off at different times between about 2.59 and 3.15. Two phones including mine didn't go off at all.

Driving.
I want to know what is the real reason for this alarm. I don’t accept that it’s for flood or wildfire, I don’t accept that.

Is there impending attacks that the government know about, and if we are attacked, what’s the fucking point in an alarm going off on a phone? What can we do? Where can we go? How the fuck do we protect ourselves?
It’s like the bomb warning in the war.

I think most countries have had it for many years so I think wouldn't necessarily be too worried there's some reason

daffodilandtulip · 23/04/2023 19:00

Ah we all burned alive in the nuclear attack, as we never got one - all on different networks 🤷‍♀️

Persuaderama · 23/04/2023 19:00

I really fancy a greek salad now

Seas164 · 23/04/2023 19:01

... still waiting, so we will remain in blissful ignorance.

listsandbudgets · 23/04/2023 19:02

Tornados, land slides, terrorist attacks, major gas leaks, poisoned water supplies

SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows · 23/04/2023 19:03

In the theatre but apparently people on the 3 network didn’t receive it anyway.

PuttingDownRoots · 23/04/2023 19:04

Looking at my phone wondering what it would do. Then starting to think it wouldn't do anything... then it beeped at me.

After all the fuss I was expecting more

Sitting wondering why the alarm wasn't going off. DS was getting very impatient that it didn't go off at 15.00

Our went off at 15.01!!!

Same here.

DD was at work, one of the customers' phones went off first at 2.59 then hers was at 3.01 like ours. I don't know how many customers were in the shop at the time but it wasn't all at once like she was expecting.

This is what I was asking. What is the real reason behind these alerts as I don’t believe it would be an earthquake or a flood.

Oh don't be daft, floods, wildfires like last year?? I'd quite like to know if the field behind my house was in flames and about to engulf my home. Why do people have to look for something that isn't there

cafecreme · 23/04/2023 19:09

Peeling potatoes. I’d just finished talking to my mum and completely forgotten about it. It made me jump and I swore loudly, my dog started barking at the back door HmmGrin

Bluebellsinbloom41 · 23/04/2023 19:09

Sat in a pub waiting for DC whilst they were in a St George's Day service in a cathedral.

In a group of three, one went off at 2.59, mine at 3.06 and one not at all

Choice4567 · 23/04/2023 19:10

@Mightyouandiconfabulate but what do you think it is for then? I was in America recently and the alarm went off for a kidnapping, asking everyone to look at for a car registration.

I really don’t think it’s for nuclear attacks; more for alerts. I don’t understand what could be a conspiracy about it seeing as loads of other countries have had it for years.

My fone was in a locker and I was swimming with the kids. Only checked it about an hour ago and I saw the notification. Didn't hear anything while we were in swimming. It's like it didn't happen for me as never heard it.

Ditto

Arewehumanorarewecupboards · 23/04/2023 19:11

I turned it off and went to the beach without my phone. Living my best life and all that jazz.

sleepyscientist · 23/04/2023 19:11

Trying to nap for nightshift, had phone on do not disturb and it disturbed me!!!

Magnificentbeast · 23/04/2023 19:12

Hoovering. Almost missed it.,

DiscoBeat · 23/04/2023 19:13

Please don't overthink it. It's been in the pipeline for years and we're now just getting up to date with lots of other countries who already have it.

Strongvibes · 23/04/2023 19:14

Sat at home, literally within 30 seconds of the alarm sounding there was a clap of thunder that sounded like a bomb going off and then we had biblical rain/hail. Seemed like an omen!!

Sofx · 23/04/2023 19:17

Taking a birthday cake out the oven for my DS & DH, it very nearly ended up on the floor 😬 completely forgot it was happening!

Pahpahpotato · 23/04/2023 19:18

I was at my mothers house, chatting to my grandmother and sister, cup of tea and plate of birthday cake in hand.

moonspiral · 23/04/2023 19:18

Sat looking at my phone waiting coz I'm sad like that
