After the death of Paul o Grady it occurred to me I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him before or after death- ditto George Michael
Other celebs I can think of are David Attenborough and Peter Kay
Are there any others?

Sir David Jason?

I've heard lots and lots of not very nice rumours about him

Same as the Tom Hanks rumours

He is absolutely loathed by many.

No. Wants to show porn to children in schools and thinks it's OK for very young girls to be married off if that's their country's culture.

Heard tons of negative stuff about him
What have people said about Peter Kay Shock

Can’t find a link now, but I’ve definitely seen him appear on MN’s “bad celebrity” threads.

And then there was this, which I remember at the time (admittedly quite a few years ago now) https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1077618-to-complain-about-Peter-Kays-Autism-joke

awakeandanxiouss · 21/04/2023 22:44

Rylan and Ally McCoist

BirminghamNewStreet · 21/04/2023 22:44

Paul McCartney but I’m aware MN doesn’t like him. I do 😍

BirminghamNewStreet · 21/04/2023 22:45

I also like the dog trainer -Graham Hall- he seems a good egg.

foxlover47 · 21/04/2023 22:40

Joanna lumley :)

I used to like her a lot but she made some very victim blaming types of comments that put me off. Jennifer Saunders seems to pretty well liked though I think.

I agree about Dolly Parton. I’ve never heard anything bad about her at all. Joan Collins is another. Kylie Minogue seems to only have positive stories about her too. I think it’s very rare to find somebody universally liked though as there will always be somebody that takes against a person.

StinkerTroll · 21/04/2023 22:47

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan, also Keanu Reeves I agree with 😁

Clawdy · 21/04/2023 22:47

No celebrity is universally loved. There will always be someone with a different story!

BirminghamNewStreet · 21/04/2023 22:47

Obviously Gemma Collins , Christian Jesson, Cliff Richard is someone’s idea of a joke (I hope 😬)

MadEyeMoodysEye · 21/04/2023 22:49

Keanu Reeves, Dave Grohl, Dolly Parton

Romeiswheretheheartis · 21/04/2023 22:50

Very few of those mentioned so far are universally loved! Cliff Richard certainly isn't, nor is Peter Andre, Gemma Collins or Boy George. There's been loads of threads on here slating all of them.

londonmummy1966 · 21/04/2023 22:52

Toby Jones

MuffinToSeeHere · 21/04/2023 22:53

I agree about Dolly Parton, she's the one who sprang to mind after lovely Paul O Grady the women is amazing, never heard a bad word said against her.

Gemma Collins?!! You're joking right? 😁

Namchange101 · 21/04/2023 23:09

Pedro Pascal

CassTheFox · 21/04/2023 23:13

David Tennant

Twisting · 21/04/2023 23:14

I think some people are better at realising that they are doing a job which relies massively on PR. DOLLY Parton may well be a lovely person, but I think she's also very shrewd and knows full well how to behave. It's the ones who forget how precarious their positions really are, who tend to be the knobheads publicly. I'm seen as a good listener and really decent person in work. I'm not in real life. I just know how to turn it on when I need to.

Queeniewag · 21/04/2023 23:15

Definitely agree with Paul O Grady being universally loved. I was suprised how upset I was when he died. A genuinely lovely man. None of the others mentioned so far though apart from Keanu Reeves and possibly Sandra Bullock - I love her but I bet some don’t.

Elton John maybe.

Seriously? Check out his criminal record…

Bimbom · 21/04/2023 23:16

I challenge anybody to say a bad word against Freddie Mercury
