After the death of Paul o Grady it occurred to me I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him before or after death- ditto George Michael
Other celebs I can think of are David Attenborough and Peter Kay
Are there any others?

Oh and Bob Marley!

Bonjovispjs · 22/04/2023 00:35

Gemma Collins? Really? She's bloody awful.

ninetieseyebrows · 22/04/2023 00:34

Oh and Bob Marley!

His widow Rita would disagree.

BruceAndNosh · 22/04/2023 00:43

The late Bill Turnbull from bbc breakfast
Richard Briers (showing my age there!)
Definitely Michael Palin

ninetieseyebrows · 22/04/2023 00:45

@Cattenberg - damn, that's such a shame. Off to Google now

HighInfidelity · 22/04/2023 00:49

What about Tim Curry? I like him and would like there not to be anything bad about him. Andy Murray seems pretty well liked too.

After what he and Russell Brand did to Andrew Sachs? You have got to be kidding

I'm from the village Paul O'Grady lived in. He was an absolute star and genuine lovely bloke. A Pet Shop Boy lives here too - very occasionally. There's no real connection - said PSB bought the house from Julian Clary who was lovely. House originally belonged to Noel Coward. The house Paul O'Grady owned was previously lived in by Jim Moir and one of the Dr Whos before that. None of them have been involved in village life like Paul.

There was a whole thread recently about the fact that Graham Norton gets better guests because no one likes Jonathan Ross!

There's one : Graham Norton

Mumwithbaggage · 22/04/2023 00:56

Have heard negative stuff about Joanna Lumley who lives locally. Was very surprised.

Felixss · 22/04/2023 00:57

Keanu Reeves he seems lovely and down to earth.

Mumwithbaggage · 22/04/2023 00:58

Keanu Reeves does indeed seem lovely. Ditto Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

mellicauli · 22/04/2023 01:01

I am not very keen on Joanna Lumley. She milked that ab fab stuff to death. It was never that funny. And then sometimes she tries to talk about more serious issues and her take on things always seems so one dimensional, so simplistic.

@Twoshoesnewshoes

I do have a fondness for Claire Balding

Eesh?! Really? Why?! I find her at best completely mediocre, and at worst absolutely talentless. Her dad is some head honcho in the horse racing world I believe, if it wasn’t for him and the very expensive private school her posh parents paid for her to attend she definitely wouldn’t have the career she has today.

Talks to elite sportspeople for a living and still manages to make the interviews all about her.

Also, I defy you to look up the post race interview she did with the late jockey Liam Treadwell where she asked him live on camera in front of an audience if he was now going to now “get his teeth fixed” with his winnings and not thinks she’s a bit mean and actually quite odd.

Nah.

I've met Clare Balding and she was nice - came across as unpretentious and genuinely interested.

Sam Ryder is apparently a thoroughly lovely guy

Has anyone mentioned Dawn French?

Princess Anne is pretty well favoured, for a royal at least!

Princess Anne is a bit of a baffling one for me.

Any ‘reality’ celeb that was convicted of having a dangerous dog that bit two kids in a park and also responsible for the death of another dog (one of the Queen’s corgis) would be absolutely slated regularly.

Yet with her it’s totally forgotten.

Neverplayleapfrogwithmrpipes · 22/04/2023 01:07

Blinky21 · 22/04/2023 01:08

Our wonderful Queen, RIP

Porkandbeans1 · 22/04/2023 01:09

Joan Collins.
Danny DeVito.
Brendan Fraser.

thefirstmrsrochester · 22/04/2023 01:09

Neil Tennant (Pey Shop Boy)
Dolly
Andy Murray

SetFreeTheKites · 22/04/2023 01:13

Bob Mortimer?

SiobhanSharpe · 22/04/2023 01:16

Oh yes, Bob Mortimer. Bonkers but lovely.

Kennykenkencat · 22/04/2023 01:17

Alan Carr

Mars27 · 22/04/2023 01:17

Is it my impression or there's some serious trolling going on on this thread? Because some of the names being suggested, well...

Aphrathestorm · 22/04/2023 01:19

Minnie Driver.

Some of these are bonkers!

At least 3 above have been accused of sexual violence!

Tom Hanks immediately comes to mind

You could be in for a shock there 😬
