After the death of Paul o Grady it occurred to me I've never heard anyone say a bad word about him before or after death- ditto George Michael
Other celebs I can think of are David Attenborough and Peter Kay
Are there any others?

I also like the dog trainer -Graham Hall- he seems a good egg.

Yes, I watched one of his programmes (very boisterous German Shephard dog) he was really on the ball and clued up as to what made the dog tick and how to get the people on board without bulldozing them.
Admitedly I;m not a fan of dogs and ony saw one show .

Those saying Keanu Reeves - up until recently I would have agreed, but I read Matthew Perry's autobiography and he is nasty about Keanu in passing several times but doesn't expand on why.

Tom Jones?

He had very very bad things printed about him in South African press.

ScarboroughFare · 22/04/2023 00:10

@Twoshoesnewshoes

I do have a fondness for Claire Balding

Eesh?! Really? Why?! I find her at best completely mediocre, and at worst absolutely talentless. Her dad is some head honcho in the horse racing world I believe, if it wasn’t for him and the very expensive private school her posh parents paid for her to attend she definitely wouldn’t have the career she has today.

Talks to elite sportspeople for a living and still manages to make the interviews all about her.

Also, I defy you to look up the post race interview she did with the late jockey Liam Treadwell where she asked him live on camera in front of an audience if he was now going to now “get his teeth fixed” with his winnings and not thinks she’s a bit mean and actually quite odd.

Nah.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/04/2023 00:15

Didn't Tom Jones cheat on his wife incessantly and also have a child outside the marriage he was shitty to?

wonderinglywondering · 22/04/2023 00:15

Ryan Reynolds?

I thought Matthew Perry had apologised and said he just picked a random name?

Toddlerteaplease · 22/04/2023 00:18

Just Dench

I don't think that's the case.

He was on I'm a Celebrity recently and lots of people were saying negative things!

Are you serious about these two?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/04/2023 00:21

@PrtScn @justasoul

Oh that's interesting I hadn't seen it

To be honest Matthew Perry didn't come across like a particularly nice person in a book he wrote about himself!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/04/2023 00:23

Thanks!

I haven’t actually read it, but Keanu Reeves seems like a genuinely nice bloke. Very low profile (no social media etc) and seems down to Earth.

Soproudoflionesses · 21/04/2023 23:54

Tom Jones?

He spent his married life having affairs and fathered a child with another woman

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/04/2023 00:26

He's had a fairly tragic time as well - Have you seen Always Be My Maybe?

ArseMenagerie · 22/04/2023 00:26

Kate Winslet
Brian Cox
Hugh Laurie
Idris Elba
Greg James

Dreamegg · 22/04/2023 00:28

Peter Kay is an arsehole.

Miriam isn't well loved at all.

doesn't her "career" these days consist of shouting "Cunt" on telly?

ninetieseyebrows · 22/04/2023 00:30

Sam Ryder is apparently a thoroughly lovely guy

Has anyone mentioned Dawn French?

Princess Anne is pretty well favoured, for a royal at least!

No, but I’ve just googled it and see it’s on Netflix so may well give it a watch soon

Cattenberg · 22/04/2023 00:34

No one. Everyone who’s been put on a pedestal seems to fall off eventually including Aung San Suu Kyi, the Dalai Lama and Mother Theresa.

That said, I would be sad to hear anything negative about Kriss Akabusi. He visited our primary school in the 80’s and was lovely. He even had his photo taken with each child individually and managed to smile broadly throughout. And there were well over 300 of us!
