Thread 7 - TalkLair: “In fact it’s an oblate spheroid”

Kucinghitam · 20/04/2023 20:05

Continuation of previous threads (thread 6).
The new lair of JTT escapees is all cosy and homey; we have truly settled here. Outside, the garden is blooming with spring flowers. Inside, the hearth is glowing, pictures are up on the walls, rugs are down on the floors (and assorted pets curled up on them).

We just won’t mention the gnawed bones of our prey over there in the corner of the cave…

So sorry, Kuc. I know you will have many lovely memories and will keep her in your heart.

SqueakyDinosaur · 03/06/2023 10:45

Oh kuc. They take your heart with them when they go.

Always reminds me of a line from a poem: "How small a part of time they share, that are so wondrous sweet and fair."

(It's actually about roses and general carpe-diem-how-about-a-quickie, but it's still a lovely line...).

UnfortunatePoster · 03/06/2023 10:46

So sorry Kuc, what a lovely looking cat.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 03/06/2023 10:51

Didn’t she 😻 such a sweet inquisitive face.

lucicle · 03/06/2023 23:17

Phoebe looks beautiful. What a pretty cat. I'm sorry, kuc, hope you are OK. I've been there too.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 04/06/2023 12:00

I feel slightly guilty at feeling so upset about Phoebe but heartlessly indifferent to the suffering of Dave the legs.

Yesterday I downloaded an app for the first time (slow learner) - the Merlin bird Id thing, specifically the birdsong Id. Such fun - I have two different blackcaps, and a greenfinch, which is something I haven't seen since their population collapse ?20 years ago. Also loads of other stuff I see from time to time - predictably it seems to be the wrens who shout the loudest. Best new toy in years. Not infallible though, it told me it heard a chough, which would be lovely but seems deeply improbable.

I belly laughed for 1 minute 45 seconds at this video, pinched from t’other place:

That's wonderful. I wonder what it was thinking?

Britinme · 04/06/2023 13:06

What a drama Queen!

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 04/06/2023 13:18

That's wonderful!

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 04/06/2023 13:22

Is he a pet? Remembering a time he actually did get knocked over and was told he was an ootum tootum BRAVE squirrel and got given lots of cuddles and some special treats.

SinnerBoy · 04/06/2023 13:40

I've put it on my What's App groups.

😀

Tricyrtis2022 · 04/06/2023 15:19

That's hilarious, elderberry. What a manipulative little shit, but fascinating to see how he learned.

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 04/06/2023 16:09

I've never had a flying squirrel that posed under a broom handle, but I did have a dog who worked out the link between having a limp and getting his paw held and being cuddled and told what a good brave boy he was. Do the squirrels naturally live in groups that would encourage social behavior?

MmePoppySeedDefage · 04/06/2023 19:20

I love the squirrel. We had a cat who injured her foot and got lots of attention and then started limping on the wrong^^ foot.
