Im watching The Casting of JonBenét on Netflix and had no idea how much information I didn’t know about the case but also all the different set of scenarios that may have lead to her death.

It doesn’t seem that anyone was ever charged despite some really disturbing evidence and behaviours of people closed to her…

what does everyone else think happed?

I think idle speculation about murdered children is ghoulish. It

LBFseBrom · 18/04/2023 13:42

I don't know and neither do the police. I believe something will turn up eventually but it may be after the family is no more so they never get closure.

It's best not to speculate there was enough of that after it happened and nothing ever led anywhere.

Very obvious that Bourke did it. Parents covered it up to prevent losing 2 children. He couldn’t have been charge either way as he was only 9.

worried4698643 · 18/04/2023 13:46

I've listened to countless podcasts and watch lots of documentary's on this case. Every one raises different ideas and I draw a different conclusion everytime.

Such a sad, tragic case.

Right on cue 🙄

Can you imagine losing someone so close then being blamed by internet sleuths forever.

Spouting your opinion on someone else's tragedy as a fact is a pretty shitty thing to do.

No, you're inviting people to speculate on who killed her, knowing full well what the answers will say.

It's not really my thing to sit and discuss the murder of a child in detail with strangers and gossip about who could have murdered her, bit weird that it's how you wish to pass the time tbh.

Right cool…

As I said, if it’s not your thing scroll on!

There are 100’s of threads I come across daily, that are not my thing but I don’t feel the need to click on them, read and tell everyone so!

It is a bit off, treating a tragedy as entertainment.
There was an article in the news from the Grenfell families saying similar.

SnapchatJustForTheFilters · 18/04/2023 14:12

Somer really good podcasts on this that pretty much eliminate dad/mum/burke. Essentially inexperienced police on duty due to xmas completely fucked the crime scene.

My Favourite Murder and Sinisterhood have both done excellent episodes on Jonbenet. Strongly recommend a listen for a bit of an expanded look.

There are a couple of far more likely suspects but of course the family are low hanging fruit due to absence of evidence thanks to police handling of crime scene.

LakeTiticaca · 18/04/2023 14:13

Watched a few docs about this case. It did seem very strange, like lots of family and friends coming into the house which should have been cordoned off as a crime scene.
So much time has elapsed now, and JonBenets mum has died, I can't see the case ever being solved x

SnapchatJustForTheFilters · 18/04/2023 14:13

(You might want to move this to the crime board for better replies.)

It's not obvious or very obvious.

Princessfuckingpeach · 18/04/2023 14:16

I think it's one of the saddest cases in recent history that people will always want solved.
Something to me that always stands out is during her autopsy historical sexual abuse was discovered.
That's often overlooked.

I think the things that make people obsessed with this case is things such as the knots used at the crime being specific to someone from the navy, which I think her father possibly was? I'm not sure but I think I've read that. But don't quote me as I'm not 100% as it's been a really long time since I've read about this.

I had a cousin who was murdered by a serial killer and we've seen lots of bollocks written online about the situation in which he was murdered, his killer was extremely high profile, he as a victim not so much and people where still very intrigued by his death. I can't imagine how media interest in the likes of the case must be for the families.

It does just really pull on people seeing such a sweet looking little girl knowing her life was probably absolutely awful and then she died.

rubadubdubascrubinahottub · 18/04/2023 14:33

Thanks so much for posting about this OP, never knew there was a new documentary. One of the most bizarre cases in recent memory for me.

Rubyupbeat · 18/04/2023 14:35

I remember it happening, and what shocked me was seeing photos of the little girl done up in her pageant dresses and make up. I had never even heard of these pageants.
I feel it's a shame as she will always be pictured in most people's heads looking like that.
I have no idea what happened, just a great sadness that such a young child lost their life.

NewtonsCradle · 18/04/2023 14:41

The Dr Phil interview with Burke Ramsey is worth a look, I think it makes him look less of a suspect albeit a bit of a shy and awkward man.

Skinnermarink · 18/04/2023 14:44

John did it. Patsy knew and helped cover. Can’t believe people scapegoat Burke. Poor JB was being abused. Burke is a damaged individual because his sibling was horribly murdered, most likely by her own family. Not because he is the perpetrator.

thebaneofmylifeisacat · 18/04/2023 14:45

Reporting posts that smear her brother with absolutely no evidence.

Shame on you quite disgusting

MagiMagic · 18/04/2023 14:49

You can't know what happened from podcasts and documentaries so it's completely pointless speculating. You have to be gullible to think that podcasts and documentaries don't put a massive spin on things to make the 'story' more interesting.

To be fair the Ramseys did enough of that on their own in public interviews.

Prinnny · 18/04/2023 15:03

I think it was someone close to the family and a cover up is involved, whether it was the dad or the brother I’m not sure. Poor kid had no chance.

gonnabeok · 18/04/2023 15:06

There was a documentary which restaged what the parents said. The ultimate thought was that the brother did it in a fit of rage and the parents covered it up. The brother had hit his sister over the head a few weeks before with a golf club. She died of a fracture to the skull which the documentary believed matched the shape of a hammer in the house. They also looked at the photos of the windows in the night of the incident and there were still cobwebs on them. The documentary said if someone had broken in like the parents said the cobwebs wouldn't be there. I'm pretty sure the ransom note left in the house matched the mum's handwriting. Very sad case.
