Is that a muppet peering through the window? I cant work this one out at all, is it a residential home, I wonder? Clearly Im winning the 40 million on Friday. I have never been to St Johns Wood I think Paul McCartney lives there. Not in this house though https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/123301931#/?channel=RES_BUY

I love the bathroom and the kitchen. I want a colourful bathroom suite and have had my head turned by the orange. The bamboo tiles are fab.

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/04/2023 19:27

I love and am fascinated by the shape of it, the footprint is wedge shaped so I wonder what is at the back of the house as the only garden with it is to the right hand side

It's charming. I suspect it will.go to developers and be knocked down.

That won’t be knocked down. If anything they will, list it,

I'm loving that kitchen !

Thurgie · 05/04/2023 20:30

Why on earth is there wall-to-wall carpet in the bathroom? Is that a British thing? Think of all the years of urine spray collected around the toilet.

No it's not a British thing - at least not in my four decades of being a Brit!

ComtesseDeSpair · 05/04/2023 20:34

Before central heating it would have been more comfortable to have carpet on the bathroom floor so most people did. Personally I can’t say I’ve ever noticed urine on my toilet or bathroom floor, and both are white so it would be noticeable.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/04/2023 20:40

Definitely a male hairdresser. I think a male couple. It’s beautiful. I actually love it. I bet it’s seen some fabulous parties.

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2023 20:43

yes I was thinking Abigails party too.

It also looks like the room with the hairdryer was a little salon at some point.

so I’m thinking famous hairdresser , someone like Vidal Sassoon, (not him he was in Hammersmith I think) who retired and still saw some friends privately.

Nick Clark had a home in SJW but rather fancier and £££ than that one.

JellyBeanFactory · 05/04/2023 20:54

Not sure if want to climb up for a 2nd or 3rd bottle of wine from that wine rack.

Love the house and I'd love to have a chat with owner(s) as I bet there's some stories to tell 😜

A cat park for your back garden

It's tiny and you can't see it. There aren't any windows on that side.

QueenSmartypants · 05/04/2023 21:05

The kitchen makes me uncomfortable

LuluBlakey1 · 05/04/2023 21:14

Lovely to look at outside and very centrally situated but awful inside. Early 1970s styling and I just hate odd shaped rooms and tiny rooms.

DisforDarkChocolate · 05/04/2023 21:18

I think it's a lovely house, very definitely a home.

In the 1980s, yes.

BettyOBarley · 05/04/2023 21:24

Lovely building with great potential but what a horrible looking location.. would be nice if you could pick it up and move it.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 05/04/2023 21:25

Not the prettiest street but the location’s very handy, @BettyOBarley.

dapsnotplimsolls · 05/04/2023 21:31

Have you seen how short the property description is? They clearly weren't sure what to say!

Gracemyheartoff · 05/04/2023 21:31

I actually hate threads like this. My friend was selling her mums house after her mum died, it was quirky decorated but a much loved clean home and very to the persons taste. Anyway, that house too was put on a forum and made fun of and it really upset my friend.

I’m sure you wouldn’t like us roasting your decor OP.

Partyandbullshit · 05/04/2023 21:41

I was thinking ageing male couple, too!

I don’t think I could be dealing with the lack of right angles. But it’s 100% a well-loved home, with a lot of life, in an amazing location. If the owner is still alive, I imagine it would be a wrench to leave it.

TwoMonthsOff · 05/04/2023 21:42

I think it's beautiful. It has a real warmth to it. I'm not keen on people putting other peoples houses down on forums. It's nasty.

This.
