Is that a muppet peering through the window? I cant work this one out at all, is it a residential home, I wonder? Clearly Im winning the 40 million on Friday. I have never been to St Johns Wood I think Paul McCartney lives there. Not in this house though https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/123301931#/?channel=RES_BUY

Check out this 4 bedroom detached house for sale on Rightmove

@PussBilledDuckyPlait Loads of detached houses in SJW, but very few with an interior like that! I’m sure they’re mostly all grey with cinema rooms and colour-changing showers.

Ah, never been there, thanks for the info. I agree, the one linked by OP has buckets of character.

PuttingDownRoots · 05/04/2023 18:35

Looks quirky if a bit dated. But generally a good space, especially for a family with a WFH adult or two.

I'm ignoring the price tag as it just reminds me why we chose Yorkshire over London.

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2023 18:36

Hairdresser to the stars I like that theory! Male or female? Either way theres been some fun going on over the years. I dont think the price is that bad. Ex council houses arounf the corner go for nearly two million in the middle of estates.

I love London property shopping 😂😂

Male I think. There seems to be lots of memorabilia around so maybe with some showbiz friends/clients.

RosesInWater · 05/04/2023 18:40

Let's crowdfund a Land Registry snoop for the deeds/owner lol

FurElise · 05/04/2023 18:41

Anyone else thinking this could be the family seat of Lady Sandra Deal from another thread? 🤣

Greensleevevssnotnose · 05/04/2023 18:44

Oh I love it. I wouldn't change a thing.

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2023 18:45

Theres no comparison to Yorkshire over London though😃😃😃 last night I had a beautiful walk around the back of St Pauls those lovely old Victorian alleyways mixed with Roman ruins, and glorious old fashioned boozers. You cant put a price on it. So quiet as well yet central London. You cant beat it and Im from Yorkshire. Give me a little flat on the Barbican Estate any day of the week.

darjeelingrose · 05/04/2023 18:48

I don't think it's strange, it's just really dated is all, early 80s I would say, except the kitchen, which is odd.

InTheKitchenAtParties · 05/04/2023 18:51

It's giving me Del boy vibes.

WhereYouLeftIt · 05/04/2023 18:53

I love it! If I had the money I'd be right in there.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 05/04/2023 18:54

It's very busy and I'm not too keen on the yellow and orange 🤣 but it would be lovely to own

Anewuser · 05/04/2023 19:01

I’d say owned by an older male - wife died some years ago so hasn’t been updated.

Won’t stay like that after it’s sold anyway, as it will be pulled down and flats built.

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2023 19:04

why do you say that? Theres plenty of free standing houses around. It might be listed. Nice that Paul McCartney has had the same house for over fifty years. I wonder if its done out in a flower power stylee?😃

Sunnyfunnytimes · 05/04/2023 19:11

That’s a stunning house, sure the decor is dated, but if you can afford 3.5 million you can likely afford to decorate.

i also think owned by a man, or a male couple. And something to do with hairdressing. There is no sale history so someone’s owned it for at least 20 years.

Sphagnummoss · 05/04/2023 19:12

Nice, I love it! Who spotted the EPC though? E for a house that size? Brrrrrrrrr

GoTeamTired · 05/04/2023 19:13

I think I love it too. It is unapologetic somehow.

Schmutter · 05/04/2023 19:16

It’s pretty obvious it’s been owned by elderly people.

Beautiful house with great potential.

Bluevelvetsofa · 05/04/2023 19:17

Nah! The photo of the staircase gave me vertigo.

Sunnyfunnytimes · 05/04/2023 19:18

It also looks like the room with the hairdryer was a little salon at some point.

so I’m thinking famous hairdresser , someone like Vidal Sassoon, (not him he was in Hammersmith I think) who retired and still saw some friends privately.

Cherrysoup · 05/04/2023 19:21

Orange! It’s a funny stand alone given the background of flats.

Theunamedcat · 05/04/2023 19:22

The bathroom window was a suprise also who ever thought a terracotta toilet was a good idea 😂 its definitely interesting

RosesAndHellebores · 05/04/2023 19:24

It's charming. I suspect it will.go to developers and be knocked down.
