I am in big trouble and it is all my fault

I rang my partner at work and asked him if he had seen the dog this morning before he left the house.
He said the dog was in the bed (which he was)
I told him the dog must have got out of the cat flap (he is a Chi) and we could not find him.
Then I called him back to say someone had found the dog and he was 20 miles away. To get him back we have to go to a shop (on my partner's way home from work) and say the code word 'cake' to get him back.
My partner left work to come home and look for him...

This is an April Fool btw.. he is not going to be amused is he ?

Only on MN do I see the word 'incandescent' used. It was an April Fools. I admitted it was bad. Luckily for me my partner laughed. I think it was because of the cake part.

Why would we support someone who has openly admitted to telling huge lies to their partner. Lies that were cruel and nasty.

This April fool is nearly as funny as my sister calling me when I was at uni 400 miles away to tell me that my horse was dead. I was devastated.

Your April fool was shit and I wouldn't be surprised that he's very very pissed off with you.

Oh my god. I had a horse. I wouldn’t ever speak to whomever did that to me ever again. Family or not. That’s horrifying.

I’d leave my husband if he did this. I find pranks never funny at the best of times. Let alone if I was 30-40 years old and still doing this.

As someone said up thread it’s just click bait. If it’s true then clearly these people don’t value their dog as they can enjoy a massive grin about it being lost. Must be fun time central in their house at Christmas - “ere Sharon yer mums dropped dead in ‘er puddin! Lighten the chuff up!!”

I think you need to improve the quality of your pranks. This was dire. Pretending a living thing is missing is not funny on any level.
