I am in big trouble and it is all my fault

I rang my partner at work and asked him if he had seen the dog this morning before he left the house.
He said the dog was in the bed (which he was)
I told him the dog must have got out of the cat flap (he is a Chi) and we could not find him.
Then I called him back to say someone had found the dog and he was 20 miles away. To get him back we have to go to a shop (on my partner's way home from work) and say the code word 'cake' to get him back.
My partner left work to come home and look for him...

This is an April Fool btw.. he is not going to be amused is he ?

I know I may sound like a grump but stupid April Fool’s pranks are just so puerile. I’ve never liked practical jokes as their purpose seems to be to humiliate, embarrass, belittle or inconvenience someone while the perpetrator is killing themselves laughing at their own (un)funniness.

Someone I know had this done to her by her daughter. She was horribly upset, and even though it was years ago hasn't come to find it funny - naturally!

I really would end a relationship with someone who found it amusing to deliberately frighten me like that.

How old are you, ten? If this is true, you've lied, made your partner feel he had to leave work, possibly losing income and at least inconveniencing his coworkers or customers and you think this is funny? I'm guessing you're very very young and don't work. Or you're very very bored. Or you don't understand the modern concept of April Fools. And no, the joke isn't on those of us reading this. Nobody thinks you're clever and ingenious to do this.

Modern day April Fools jokes are things like spaghetti plants, things that do no harm, not upsetting and inconveniencing your partner like this.
