I am in big trouble and it is all my fault

I rang my partner at work and asked him if he had seen the dog this morning before he left the house.
He said the dog was in the bed (which he was)
I told him the dog must have got out of the cat flap (he is a Chi) and we could not find him.
Then I called him back to say someone had found the dog and he was 20 miles away. To get him back we have to go to a shop (on my partner's way home from work) and say the code word 'cake' to get him back.
My partner left work to come home and look for him...

This is an April Fool btw.. he is not going to be amused is he ?

Inspired by this stupid post, I actually went to my local shop and said the word "cake".

Imagine my surprise when they went out the back and brought a dog in for me. Not a chi though, it's a huge black lab and its name is actually Cake.

Lord knows what I'm going to do with it. It's sitting in my living room at this moment looking very ill at ease.

I think you're April fooling us because it's hard to believe someone would think it's funny to make someone worry about something they love.

My dog actually did go missing for a couple of hours when she was a puppy, shes slipped her leash and it was horrible. I thought she'd get into an accident and had died or something. I'd seriously question my whole marriage if my husband thought that was a funny thing to do and he'd be furious if I did it to him, he was fighting back tears looking for our dog.

Surely this thread is the April Fool. Anyone that invested in April Fool's Day would know the noon cut-off time and considering when this was posted, the joke (him saying cake in a random shop) wouldn't happen in time.

Our Puppy {many years ago now} was chased by two out of control Border Collies and he flew out of the fields and out of sight.
My son {then a child} was sobbing..and I was close to tears, too.
We ran after him, expecting the absolute worst, and a pedestrian saids he'd seen a small dog {Whippet} running like lightning up a certain road.

We found Pup on our doorstep.

A woman did divorce her husband over an incident with her beloved Whippets.
He'd taken them to the local RSPCA animal shelter!

It was obvious to the staff that they were in fine fettle, and well trained and unusual for such types to be handed in.

Anyway...Wife got them back and divorce proceedings were taken against the arse of a husband.
