Things that are socially acceptable but you wish they were not

I feel like a bit of a man. For me:

Men pissing by the side of the road. I have see this twice in the past few days, yet there were public loos close by. If a woman did this people would question her sanity, or at the very least think she was undignified yet for men it's considered normal.

Men going shirtless in public. Do what you like in your own garden, but why walk down the high street etc without a shirt. It's never that hot in England - in fact some much hotter climates actually have dignity laws that prohibit both men and women from even showing their arms or legs. Plus you know, sun burn.

Smoking. I hate walking behind someone who is smoking, it blows back in the face of the person behind and gives me a headache. It's unhealthy, expensive and should just be banged in public full stop imo.

Smoking weed. No one seems to care about it any more. It absolutely stinks! You can walk into a street and know someone is smoking it in one of the houses. It makes people and the vicinity around them smell like B.O!

Newyeardietstartstomorrow · 24/03/2023 19:29

Benefits as a lifestyle choice and having more children than you could afford, before you started to have children.

mewkins · 24/03/2023 19:29

Swearing loudly in public/around kids.

Rinkydinkydoodle · 24/03/2023 19:33

The way whenever anything happens now people whip their phones and out and start taking photos, videos. Horrible.

mrspinkhat · 24/03/2023 19:34

Yes to cling film clothing. I was sitting on the tube a while back opposite a youngish girl, late teens I guess and both nipples and her belly button was pierced. You could see them all quite clearly. Basically any clothing, male or female, that gives me an idea of what people would look like naked.

LolaSmiles · 24/03/2023 19:35

Vaping and smoking in general, but especially in doorways to pubs/restaurants/shopping centres/bus or train stations.

Shouting at children (not using a firm and fair tone, actually shouting). I hate it when I'm out and someone is yelling at their child.

TomatoSandwiches · 24/03/2023 19:35

It seems to be socially acceptable to not say thank you to strangers that give way or open a door etc in public.
It is also perfectly fine to hog a whole two way traffic pavement as well.

LookingGlassMilk · 24/03/2023 19:36

Sandals. I hate feet, I don't want to see them.

Miscellaneousme · 24/03/2023 19:36

Social media.

blondieminx · 24/03/2023 19:37

People who go into offices with the lurgi and spread it to colleagues. Keep your germs at home, ffs.

People who send their sick kids into school meaning d&v/coughs/whatever spreads there as well.

Music/videos being played out very loud on trains not using headphones.

NellyNoName · 24/03/2023 19:39

Having 3+ kids.

CantFindTheBeat · 24/03/2023 19:39

The odd work person phoning me on spec without having emailed to see if I'm free for a call first.

NOTANUM · 24/03/2023 19:39

People watching YouTube/Tiktok/videos on public transport without earphones including planes.

Kids blasting Peppa Pig/videos or playing phone games in restaurants without earphones.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/03/2023 18:58

Eh? I wouldn’t email someone first, I would just ring them.

Jellylover · 24/03/2023 19:40

Dogs in cafes, restaurants and shops.

LeafyGreen333 · 24/03/2023 19:41

People thinking it's ok to drop their dog poo in my bin in the front garden. I don't care if it's bagged. It ends up sitting at the bottom of my bin, then we put rubbish bags on top, the bin men take away the bin bags but the poo bag sits festering at the bottom, often ripped open. It's disgusting. Put your dog poo in the public bins at either end of the street you dirty so and sos.

Increasingly it's become social acceptable to be scrolling your phone in company or to be using your phone for social reasons in work - both are rude

This

Startwithamimosa · 24/03/2023 19:42

Micro string bikinis - no one needs to see this much

CantFindTheBeat · 24/03/2023 19:42

  • drag acts
  • gender ideology
  • smoking/vaping
  • loud telephone conversations in public places
  • playing videos/music from your phone in public places without headphones
  • race to the bottom "victim status" mentality on social media
  • "he's my rock" type posts on social media
  • in fact - just social media in general!

>all of these

Dogs in cafes, restaurants and shops.

Yes and also owners of dogs allowing their dog to spoil other people's days out at various locations because they have no control or recall of their dog
