Things that are socially acceptable but you wish they were not

I feel like a bit of a man. For me:

Men pissing by the side of the road. I have see this twice in the past few days, yet there were public loos close by. If a woman did this people would question her sanity, or at the very least think she was undignified yet for men it's considered normal.

Men going shirtless in public. Do what you like in your own garden, but why walk down the high street etc without a shirt. It's never that hot in England - in fact some much hotter climates actually have dignity laws that prohibit both men and women from even showing their arms or legs. Plus you know, sun burn.

Smoking. I hate walking behind someone who is smoking, it blows back in the face of the person behind and gives me a headache. It's unhealthy, expensive and should just be banged in public full stop imo.

I do apologise for my dear OH who had the temerity to die three years ago tomorrow and thus forcing me to be socially unacceptable, in the eyes of simpletons, by driving alone in the car.

Don't Mums have favourite teams, I know mine did! Having said that putting a baby in an MU top should be one the the Social Services!

People who park too close. Tailgating should be banned.

Cyclists.

Haven’t RTFT so don’t know if anyone’s already said this but, asking for money/gift lists in wedding invites. So grabby and entitled. It should be the choice of the guest whether they get a gift or not.

Smoking and vaping

I have an SUV because I live rurally and have 4 children and 2 large dogs. Do you find that ridiculous ?

People who come to my checkout talking on their phones, totally ignore me (I always greet customers politely), pack their shopping with one hand holding their phone with the other, then get arsey when l (dare to) interrupt them to ask if they have a loyalty card/tell them how much their shopping is.
It's always just chitchat, never anything that sounds urgent "Nanny's just putting her shopping in the bags, we'll come and see you on the way home...."
I even had one woman complain that she had stop whilst Facetiming so she could pay.

How the hell did people manage before mobile phones? Can't they wait five minutes til they get outside? Rude and ignorant.

And not covertly, either. Some rummage. Even worse when l'm at work and it's virtually at eye level....

Vaping

I didn’t realise nipples under clothes were so offensive to so many and I’m feeling paranoid now. After 5 years of breastfeeding, my nipples look permanently erect and show through my bra and (normal, not sprayed on, skintight) clothes. I’m a 30F and have no desire to look bigger by wearing padded bras. Not really sure what I can do.

It's crazy how accepted smoking is when it's so bad for you. The sidestream smoke (bit that comes out the lit end) is actually worse for you than the bit they directly breathe in and non smokers are more at risk than smokers (whose immune systems are working overtime to try and keep them alive). And same with idling (unnecessarily running) engines in public places, especially outside houses/schools. If people knew about the neurological deficits it causes, particularly in the womb there'd be outrage but they're never able to publish all of the studies on it because the compensation they'd have to dish out would be insane.

Having to hug and/ or kiss people who are not your close friends or family. Especially colleagues that you hardly know. Thank god for COVID ;-) although the feckers are all at it again now.

-Topless men. Absolutely can’t stand it. At work, on site, I have a rule that everyone must wear a top. It’s not right for local people to have to put up with topless men on a site.

-Wolf whistles….again huge Nono.

-Bumcracks on show……You can tell I spend too much time on building sites I’m guessing.

-Agree with PP, cheek kissing strangers. But I don’t do that either. They get a good old fashioned handshake

-Playing games on the computer when I’m paying the wages.🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh my this is a hard one to stop. All employees turned up after Christmas to find their computers facing either mine or my partners….productivity has skyrocketed...well there’s a surprise. One person actually resigned.

I don’t like going to the beach and being assailed by burning meat smell and smoke. The thread is about stuff we don’t like. Barbecues might not be an issue for you. Fair enough. They are for me.
