Wearing pyjamas in the house ...

Does anyone else just wear pyjamas when home?

As soon as I'm home for the day and I know I'm not going out again I change straight into my pjs no matter what time of day it is.

I was just wondering if this is a common theme or just me?

I put them on after bath to watch tv in the evening. Never sleep in them though!

321gogogo · 12/03/2023 13:17

Bra off, PJs on as soon as my fat self gets in the house... if I have to go out again I sling tracksuits bottoms and a hoody on over the top.... that rarely happens though as once I'm home I'm home!

Mammma91 · 12/03/2023 13:18

Yes!!! That and currently my dressing gown 🥲 can’t even blame because the house is chilly, it’s actually ok. It’s a comfort thing for me too!

Like others I lounge in joggers, t-shirt and jumper and sleep naked. What's bizarre is that clothes I'm comfy in all day are irritating as soon as I'm home, so I have to change.

OldSpeclkledHen · 12/03/2023 13:20

Oooh yes, off with the bra and into pjs. Can't relax otherwise.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 12/03/2023 13:22

Yes. But I do get home at around midnight, so I make a cuppa and whilst it’s brewing, have a quick shower and straight into pJs. Then coupe of hours pottering before bed.

If I did a 9-5 style job, I would still change out of work clothes, for comfort and stop any spillages from dinner/tea/cat fur etc! But might go for jeans and a sweater not pJs🤷‍♀️

TheHouseNextDoor · 12/03/2023 13:27

If I'm in, they are on. Even if I'm going back out in an hour.

Sleep naked though.

Ambertonix · 12/03/2023 13:29

Yes, as often as possible. If i am not going out then i will be in my pyjamas and dressing gown. Plus under my heated blanket on the sofa if in reading or watching tv.

excelledyourself · 12/03/2023 13:31

Yep, always in jammies when at home these days.

Don't sleep in them though. Sleep in a vest/t-shirt and pants.

justmyluck1234 · 12/03/2023 13:31

I do. Even more so if I was wearing jeans or something tight fitting - it's just so uncomfortable to sit around in otherwise

leafygarden · 12/03/2023 13:34

Today yes - in PJs and Oodie. Very comfy indeed☺️

jays · 12/03/2023 13:37

Yes me. I mean, I have ‘nice’ pj’s if I’m doing a whole day stint in them. This all started when my dp kept saying he couldn’t relax to watch a movie with me until I put my ‘comfy stuff’ on!

EspeciallyDedicated · 12/03/2023 13:37

No, they’re for sleeping or illness only, I would feel lazy and lethargic in them at any other time.

Skyeheather · 12/03/2023 13:38

Yes I do and I let DC do it too - DP is disgusted, "What if my DM was to make a surprise visit?, "She'd be horrified" he says.

Well she won't come again without calling first will she?!

dworky · 12/03/2023 13:39

No different to loungewear. Warm & comfy!

Doliveira · 12/03/2023 13:45

I actually wear a dressing gown, indoors. Or a nightie!

totally fed up of post people cheerily asking if they’ve woken me up.

noimaginationforausername · 12/03/2023 13:54

Yep! I hate being dressed in the house and as I wear jeans all the time I can't wait to get them off and into my pj's or "loungewear", god I hate that word but never know what else to call it! It's basically an M&S tracksuit type thing but so comfy!!

sarahh96 · 12/03/2023 13:57

Yep straight on as soon as I'm home, make up off, hair scraped back. Bit embarrassing if the neighbours pop round but hey ho

Yes, very common. 😁😁

nofluffsgiven · 12/03/2023 14:12

Yeah if it get to 6pm and I know I'm not going anywhere, I have a shower and get my PJs and Oodie on. I just find it more comfortable to curl up in my pjs, as apposed to jeans etc

mrssanchez · 12/03/2023 14:12

I change into comfy bottoms in the house and stick my jeans back on if I'm going out (unless it's dark and I'm wearing a coat).
DH finds it completely baffling and says I'm weird, I should show him this thread!

LlynTegid · 12/03/2023 14:16

I don't. I work from home most days, and even at weekends just don't feel clean and comfortable not showering and putting on clean 'day' clothes.

Botw1 · 12/03/2023 14:18

Yeah

I even, shock horror, go out in them.

Im rarely dressed these days

I don't wear them to bed though

60smusic · 12/03/2023 14:22

I absolutely hate pj's and dressing gowns. When I put them on I feel like I'm ill. I'm much more 'alive' washed and dressed. Same when I see people in them, just think they look tired and ill.

GoBackToTheLibraryWhereYouBelong · 12/03/2023 14:25

Yes, and I love them. Plaid flannel bottoms, have to be cotton and loose leg, and a t-shirt, vest or sweatshirt is my favourite look, and I'm not even kidding. I genuinely like how that looks (and feels) better than any daywear. I have loads. I don't like to wear a dressing gown during the day, though, so I wear some nice knits if it's cold.
