My lovely Mum 😭

I'm sick to my stomach with fear.
My mum recently found a painful lump/swelling in her armpit and has been having spells of her breast being red and hot to the touch. She went for her annual mammogram and has been called for further tests.

I just know in my heart it's inflammatory breast cancer and I am heartbroken.

I can't lose my Mum 😭😭

I have just seen this today, I can't even imagine how horrible the past few weeks have been for you and your mum. So glad it is treatable. Sending lots of love x

Oh OP that's the best news! I'm really pleased you and your mum can start to look forward to the future, you both must be so relieved today! Please send her all our love!

Just seen this.

Sending my best wishes to your Mum and to you. I'm glad it was not as bad as you feared. I wish your mum all the best for her forthcoming surgery. I hope they are able to perform it soon and that all goes smoothly.

Stay strong, and be kind to yourself too.

Just checking in op- my mum had exactly the same in July 2020. Stage 1 no spread. A lumpectomy and tablets only. All went smoothly and she's had two clear mammograms since. Medicine is amazing now, hope all goes fine for your mum's surgery and so happy for you

Thank goodness for that!

My sister had her first breast cancer when she was about 30; and then another at 34. Both were removed by partial mastectomy, followed by radiotherapy and tamoxifen. She is now 65 and fit and active. It has not been a problem for her; and bear in mind that her treatments were 30 years ago and medicine has moved on in that time. She used to make us laugh by describing her operated boob as looking like a Cornish pasty!

I wish your Mum well.

Hi All. Just popping back with an update. My mum had her double mastectomy two days ago and is already home, up and about and doing amazingly.
Surgery went really well, obviously she has to wait for her full results appointment in a few weeks but her team are very hopeful that she will not need any further treatment.
Your support and love on this thread has been absolutely amazing, thank you all so much.
