All the headlines in the news.

I think that we are moving towards language that does demonise people. No matter what you think, the language we use is important. And it's not just people who cross the Channel who face this behaviour

So why mention it in the first place?

In the same vein, can I label people like as just members of the privileged, bigoted elites who sneer at the working classes?

Most of the UK's rapists were born here.

To show that people who have these concerns are not fascists.

hey no problem you want a summary sweetie - you got it! I realise some of the words in the Guardian article were a little complex so here’s the very brief summary from the 83 year old Holocaust survivor

“By demonising refugees, the home secretary causes divisions that can lead to tragedy. We must not forget the lessons of the past”

she then explicitly refers to the words that were used to describe Jewish people in Germany and how they managed to divide a previously integrated community.

My comment was about the Government linking people who come here with rape and murders. Helping sow the seeds in people's minds so when they see someone who has crossed the Channel, they think rapist or murderer.

Your response was to post about some people who have committed rape who have come over here.

Nooo I was replying to a specific comment that pointed the finger at people who drew parallels between uncontrolled immigration and violent crime.

It's not going to surprise me if a centre for people who cross the Channel gets burnt down and they get attacked in the streets.

And the Government and the Daily Mail will wonder how someone could possibly get radicalised to do such a thing. But they won't describe it as terrorism.

Agreeing that countries (including the UK) can have an immigration policy doesn't mean agreeing with this government's latest one. Disagreeing with this policy doesn't mean you want open borders. Disagreeing with some of the rhetoric used around asylum seekers and refugees also doesn't mean you want open borders.
