This snow is inadequate

I've had met office weather warnings of snow for the past 3 days.

Yes I've had snow but its the crap beanbag filling type snow that is gone within the hour. I want big chunky flakes bleaching down, while I sit on my sofa looking out of the window.

2/10

"Snow" here was delivered by Evri.

Not actually here at all despite the promises

😆😆😆

Hoppinggreen · 10/03/2023 10:09

Loads of the fluffy stuff here in our corner of West Yorkshire
Schools, shops, cafes etc closed and buses not running
I love it - but there’s nowhere I need to be and Ocado came yesterday

The sun is out so it might melt a bit but if it freezes tonight that will be worse. Its about 6" deep where I am at the moment.

Just a dusting here. I don't think we've had what I would call 'sledging weather' for a good couple of years now, and I live somewhere we'd expect to get the snow when it it's around.

Although DS said mournfully this morning "covid killed snow days, we'd only have to go to online school if it was bad anyway".

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 10/03/2023 10:30

@itsgettingweird the main roads are open.

18” deep round me. And still it snows…

MeinKraft · 10/03/2023 10:44

It's rubbish. Can't even make a snowball with it because it's powdery. And there hasn't been enough of it to close anywhere. 2/10 here also.

White and soggy. Step onit and it instantly turns to cold water filling your shoes and looking dirty and unpleasant. No good for snowmen or sledging.

Rowthe · 10/03/2023 11:53

Spent about an hour helping the neoghbours clear our little cul de sac.

Doesnt help much though cos the road outside the cul de sac is covered.

Beamur · 10/03/2023 11:55

Glorious piles of fluffy snow here and bright sunshine. Picture perfect.

Yesterday and this morning.

The roads weren't too bad yesterday.

Well it did snow overnight (when I had my eyes shut and couldn't gawk out my window at it).

I'm not sure how I feel about it now. There was enough to have to use a broom to clear my car, but melty enough for the roads to be clear for school run - so that was quite kind.

There's more beanbag type bits coming down every now and then. I think my snow wish is for enough to go sledging but that seems unlikely.

I'm at 4/10 now

We had a pretty coating of snow on our lawns in Lancashire this morning but none on hard surfaces and it's almost all gone now.

Lovely sunny day though.

Snow can just bugger off unless there's enough to sledge but not so much that you can't drive to a sledging slope.

I've seen children playing out in the snow round here. They need at least some time to play in it. One house I passed on my dog walk had a group of about 6 adults and a child with a 6 foot tall snowman. As is right and traditional. I've seen a few out on sledges too, small ones just being pulled along the pavement.

Snow?! What snow? There's been shitty sleet but not snow. I demand snow.
