Been searching for weeks.

Found something last night. Had to put deposit in bank before paying and it's gone. No AI left and everything thing else seems to have gone up by about £500 overnight.

If anyone can please help because I'm just on the verge of tears.

Requirements.

  • Spain, short 2/2.5hour flight (A must due to autistic child)
  • 6 adults. 2 children. 3 BEDROOMS needed.

-All inclusive.

-A week to 9 days BUT if its a week we need to fly early hours and leave late hours to get a decent first and last day in the sun.

If anyone can find me anything I will send you a present. I'm not even joking. 😂

I had something for 550 each for 9 days all inclusive and its gone. I've actually started crying now. This is so stressful :(

Max budget 5k.

Please help

I've never noticed this happen and I'm the classic 'search around in circles for hours' so certainly have multiple searches going on.

Happens frequently to me. Both with dH and friends. We typically use a different device to book and the prices revert to the price we saw first.

@PandasAreUseless whats the issue? People are not forced to help are they?

There was a whole thread recently started by an OP who liked looking up different holiday scenarios and did it as a hobby to relax. You need them.

Soma · 01/03/2023 18:18

@Holiwoes have you thought about a cruise where the 3rd and 4th passengers go free or low cost? You should be able to get inside cabins with your budget.

ThepicofmyhairymingeprovesIamsober · 01/03/2023 18:13

OP, maybe not on Mumsnet but in the real world, there is a cost of living crisis and many many people cannot afford a holiday, so yes you ARE being really annoying dramatic. Hmm

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that I have NEVER has a holiday abroad, ever with my children.

I am on disability benefit and struggle every month at some point.

The reason my budget is so strict is because my parents are paying. For all of us. Because theyve sold their house.

This holiday is my inheritance.

And not something I would EVER be able to afford.

I can't even afford caravan holidays in UK.

So yes, I know there is a cost of living crisis, thanks.

And I'm told alot I'm annoying.

That's why I'm a 41 year old woman with no friends.

Because people don't like to deal with Adults who are neuro divergent and have mental health issues. I've been told my whole life I'm annoying (I think I'm being funny but it never comes across that way) . What's one more stranger on the net tell me that?

I'm deathly afraid of ships 😂 Really! I cnat even watch videos of cruise ships. They give me the Willies.

I think it's that things where they are so big that they just look scary. I can't remember the name of it. Like wind turbines and stuff scare me too!

I don't even know why I posted that. It's Noone's business and I don't need to justify my emotions or the reason why I'm booking a holiday, like it's a bad thing 😩

Have we really sunk to the level of people being mean on a holiday thread?

I hope you get sorted OP. I'd help you find one, i love looking at holidays, but I've got a 4 month old distracting me.

Westpoint · 01/03/2023 18:33

@Holiwoes give travelcounsellors.co.uk a try.

Disclaimer - I used to be one few years ago. They are totally independent so have access to a huge range of operators or can package themselves. They might not be cheaper but they won't be any more expensive and will do their utmost to find you something as they only get paid a commission from the supplier when you book and have travelled.

Soma · 01/03/2023 18:33

@Holiwoes no worries. Hope you find what you are looking for, and agree with PP, maybe a local travel agent would be your best bet.

You don't need to justify yourself to strangers OP. I support a disabled student and I recently posted a thread. Some of the posters were great but one or two were simply dreadful. Don't engage with the meanies and keep focusing on what you are trying to get out of posting this.

I found this on jet 2. Only 7 nights. Did guess kids ages though.

Ignore the horrible people OP. I really hope you find the perfect holiday and go on to have an amazing time. Sounds like you deserve it. Good luck and let us know when you do. Xx

EnFlique · 01/03/2023 18:46

Where are you flying from? There are some on Jet2 holidays that come under 5k all inclusive

ThereItIs1 · 01/03/2023 18:46

We've always used this company for holidays to Spain - good prices and totally fab/ easy to use. Good luck!

9 nights in Spain

this comes in as £3.6k for 9 nights AI.
12/07 from Manchester. Includes 4 hold bags.

CauliflowerBalti · 01/03/2023 18:50

I find booking holidays really really stressful. It’s a huge chunk of money and spending lots of money always makes me anxious. My husband and child both have diametrically opposite ideas of what constitutes a holiday. Neither will take responsibility for choosing/booking though - fair enough on my child’s part. I end up feeling hugely resentful that I sort it and pay for it but don’t really get a say in it, as the whole affair is a political minefield balancing act of appeasement between other people’s needs. And there’s only 3 of us. So I absolutely hear you - it’s a stressful burden to bear, made more so by knowing that it’s a privilege to even get away, it’s out of reach for so many people, SO WHY IS IT SO HARD?! It should be fun!

I used an independent travel agency. She found loads of holidays that took me into account too, and at prices I just couldn’t match. Even at onthebeach. Definitely - outsource it.

MangosteenSoda · 01/03/2023 18:52

Good luck with your holiday planning OP - some great suggestions on here.

I cannot believe some of the nasty comments on this thread; OP please ignore them. Your feelings are your feelings and you should cry when you need to cry!

As a fellow ASD mum who flies out of Manchester, I understand your worries. I also bloody love holiday planning and holiday threads and think people who don’t want to engage and help should just scroll by!!

Seasider2017 · 01/03/2023 18:52

You can get hols under 5k AI But
then you gave to add on top
luggage( unless you all only take hang luggage!
transfers to hotel per person
travel insurance
so all that on top takes it to more like 5.5k

FfeminyddCymraeg · 01/03/2023 18:53

9 Nights AI in Majorca

this looks lovely - Calas is great for kids too. £103 over budget though.

WomanOfSteel · 01/03/2023 18:53

I booked a holiday last year on the Thomas Cook website as TUI cancelled ours a fortnight before we should’ve been going in the 6 week hols. It lets you faff about with flight times and the cheaper days around when you want to go.

FOTTFSOFTFOASM · 01/03/2023 18:53

I assume you don't have a partner, as clearly if you did they'd be planning this with you to take some of the load off

Yeah, OP, you're not only useless for crying about a holiday, but you're a loser with no partner too (or so says @PandasAreUseless, who is clearly a really nice and caring person).

I haven't been on holiday for the best part of 20 years, so I hope you get yours and that you have a lovely time!

user1501270679 · 01/03/2023 18:55

People are being mean. Stuff is selling out weirdly quickly at the moment.

We booked our summer holiday at the weekend. All sorted now, but half the apartments/hotels we had shortlisted two days earlier had already gone, and train tickets were selling out under our nose i.e. gone before we checked the basket out 30 mins later.

It is brutal! I needed a breather and strong drink after that one!

That would have been absolutely perfect if it was 3 rooms!

It's only 2 so my parents would have to share with 2 teenagers. I don't think any of them want that!
