To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

I called Gary Kasparov, one of the great tactical minds of our time, read out all the moves so far and asked his advice - obvious to a genius of course but had me scratching my head until I saw its brilliance:

PIMLICO

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 24/03/2023 23:08

Hal says we should move to

High Barnet

OP posts:
Thewolvesarerunningagain · 25/03/2023 12:05

Well if it's High Barnet, and all the diagonals are occupied, we could play a twin station which would move us all the way to Edgeware

HazelBite · 25/03/2023 13:44

I can only offer Baker Street as it seems the most logical move to me

DuckonaBike · 25/03/2023 19:21

<raises lorgnette>
<raises eyebrows>
<sips crème de menthe>

Lambeth North

AmandaHoldensLips · 25/03/2023 21:32

Lambeth North??? Jesus. I've seen some brass neck in my time but that really takes the biscuit. I tried putting a call in to Samantha but she's recently taken up apiculture and is currently causing a disturbance with her 36 bees.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 26/03/2023 11:21

Samantha has always been a lively girl, has she not? Her and Sven’s cha cha cha at the Christmas party will be forever etched in my memory.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other: Golders Green, perfect!

GonzoFlyingProducts · 27/03/2023 04:17

HAHA - Luckilly I'm wearing stockings not tights as we sashay to:

COVENT GARDEN (yeah yeah yeah) Say what ya like... They'll never catch me...

HazelBite · 27/03/2023 10:25

I check in to this game each morning and I am both amazed and (yes) appalled by some of the moves, there is surely some reckless behaviour going on here!
So to bring some decorum back to the proceedings I am gently going to Marble Arch

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/03/2023 10:30

I would hardly describe Marble Arch as a place of decorum, especially since that incident in the hotel foyer involving the Admiral, the marimba player and the box of figs.

Great Portland Street

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 27/03/2023 21:42

Decorum is not to be found much at Barbican, despite its appearances.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/03/2023 12:57

Indeed it is not. <<winces at the memory>> If it’s decorum we are seeking, we must head to

Westminster

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 28/03/2023 14:00

I’m not sure that will be much better, Maud. There may be an abbey and a cathedral there, and a nice bridge, but what about the Houses of Parliament?

Wood Lane

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/03/2023 14:06

My tongue was in my heavily-rouged and powdered cheek, DuckOnABike.

Woodgrange Park

OP posts:
HazelBite · 28/03/2023 16:48

I've been mulling this over, some of the recent play has been reckless so to calm matters I would suggest Southfields

SomethingOnce · 28/03/2023 19:29

Calm matters? Good grief!

Let’s throw more fuel on the fire, why don’t we… Burnt Oak

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 28/03/2023 21:18

Ok, let's calm down. From Burnt Oak we can backtrack to Oakwood and revisit the happier more carefree times of our youth.

LlynTegid · 28/03/2023 21:35

Cockfosters, as the trains are not all being turned round at Arnos Grove.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/03/2023 22:07

We seem to be lurching from free-spirited to anarchic:

Cricklewood

OP posts:
GonzoFlyingProducts · 28/03/2023 23:38

Stop that - it's silly.
In the hope that moving to the far East will quell the recent overexcitment and frankly reckless play (mentions of the Admiral for goodness sake) I'm looking for the cold shower effect with:

UPMINSTER

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/03/2023 23:46

It ill behoves you, Gonzo, to accuse other people of silliness. Upminster, indeed.

Upney

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 29/03/2023 08:31

In an attempt to inject some levity to the proceedings...

(Though tbh it's gone so far off-piste I don't know what version of Stovold's you're all using for reference, if you are at all...)

Maida Vale

LlynTegid · 29/03/2023 09:20

From Maida Vale where there are several secret players of the game of games, a move to Queens Park for some fresh air.

HazelBite · 29/03/2023 09:52

If its fresh air you are after I think a sideways sashay to Holland Park is called for, (Stovold indeed! It just isn't cricket!!)
