Mornington Crescent rides again

To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

There is only one way to go from there as far as I can see, which is Green Park. I did mull over playing Bond Street, but that would just be silly.

MarkWithaC · 07/12/2023 11:29

Itisall, silly maybe, but I can well imagine the temptation, just to see what might happen.
I'm going to have to use my Spuddington, but it's worth it: Stepney Green.

TragicMuse · 07/12/2023 19:35

Welcome @Itisallgoingtobeok I meant to say that earlier!

You're a canny player in the quiet!

A Spuddington eh @MarkWithaC? You've been saving that for a while...I admire your restraint. I spanked my Spuddington months ago...

Stepney, Stepney, Stepney...hmmm...

Ah! Oh, no, that leads inexorably to knockings...

It's chancy but what the heck, Covent Garden

Itisallgoingtobeok · 08/12/2023 06:36

Thanks @TragicMuse!

It's very early, but I think I'm going to play Gants Hill. A safe move for this time on a Friday I feel.

LlynTegid · 08/12/2023 08:32

I think a further safe move to Chigwell is about right on this slightly less cold morning.

MarkWithaC · 08/12/2023 10:40

It's not easy, Muse, I can tell you that; it's been a lifetime's practice.
Also, I was on the receiving end of some… tart words on the subject the last time I played the old Earl. It was bracing but it certainly brought things into focus for me.

But now I say let's throw caution to the winds, get the blood pumping and introduce a Top-Side Corner to get us to

Mudchute

Itisallgoingtobeok · 08/12/2023 12:09

@MarkWithaC I'm not sure I can manage gameplay with that level of finesse, very slick indeed. I haven't yet had any coffee today which is resulting in a reckless move to Temple.

Pasithean · 08/12/2023 12:24

Edgeware road But which one ????????Be careful of the next move.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/12/2023 14:59

It’s Friday afternoon and I’m feeling frolicsome, so

Kilburn Park

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 08/12/2023 15:10

The incomplete stations rule means we revert to being at Temple. Though I shall move to Kilburn Park so we are still at the same station as if the name had been completed.

MarkWithaC · 08/12/2023 15:11

Oh, I wondered if someone might essay that Kilburn Park move! I'm not brave enough myself, but 👏Maud.

Bermondsey for me (using a stiffened O'Leary, obviously).

TragicMuse · 08/12/2023 15:13

Just dashing in between fittings (on which more later) to proffer a serviceable Kentish Town.

You know where you are with Kentish Town. No nonsense, no flourish and yet eminently satisfactory in the right circs.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/12/2023 18:14

Hmm. I’m going to practise my yodelling - the Colonel thinks I ought to turn professional - at a very louche bar in

Swiss Cottage

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 08/12/2023 21:30

I’ve heard about your yodelling, Maud, and about that particular bar. Watch out for the goatherds is all I can say.

It now feels like the weekend, so I’m going to make an easy Saddleworth Slide to Brondesbury Park. I know it’s not as sophisticated as some of the play we’ve had recently but it’s been a long week so I’d rather play safe and keep my buffers intact.

I didn’t think we where playing under regulation 227 para 6 part C iii where buffers had to be intact :

Rayners Lane

HazelBite · 09/12/2023 00:17

This is all getting very technical (yodelling aside) the O' Leary practised uptrend leads me now to Moor Park

Hooklander · 09/12/2023 08:20

CF ALERT: I am avidly following this thread and playing the London Tube Memory Game simultaneously. I am, obviously, working on the rules that will have allowed for this technically misfeasant manoeuvre to be fully legal for women of a certain age by the time I've completed the Memory Game 2025 at this rate, so please do not fear for my mortal soul.

Anyhoo, you have helped me limp to 85.4% of stations found. Shunt west on the Liz Line, for pity's sake.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/12/2023 09:58

Glad to be of help to you, Hooklander. Had you thought of

Fairlop?

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 09/12/2023 10:35

Ah Hollander I was playing that and then my phone had to be reset and I lost all my progress! I was gutted!!

Shenfield.

I am in the purgatory of the perpetual loop of 'station already found', @ComeIntoTheGardenMaud, but I take great comfort from your camaraderie.

I will be brushing up on some cross-county tracking sidewinder wizardry soon and throwing myself into the fray.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/12/2023 12:49

Do call me Maud <<smiles winsomely>>. I look forward to your imminent participation in the game of games.

As it is not comme il faut for players to comment without playing a move, and I am nothing if not a slave to the rules, I offer

Upney

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 09/12/2023 19:25

Deceptively simple, Maud.

Stamford Brook

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/12/2023 20:17

Simple? Me or the move?

West Kensington

OP posts:
HazelBite · 10/12/2023 07:55

I'm trying to catch up here, festive activities have rather taken over my life of late!
I've had to relax and put my "Mornington" head on (ie how would the Archbishop play this?) After much cogitation I'm going with Great Portland Street

DuckonaBike · 10/12/2023 08:25

Ah, mention of Great Portland Street always puts me in mind of the late, great Kenneth Williams.

And in answer to your question Maud, I was referring to the move. I am well aware that you are anything but simple, although you are occasionally deceptive, as I learnt to my cost after the incident at Glyndebourne.

Anyway, back to the game. Bond Street.
