To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

Not for the first time, the game of games takes a poetic turn.

Let’s keep things lyrical with Temple

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/03/2023 20:52

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I’m playing Morton’s Manoeuvre
To Waterloo

OP posts:
Thewolvesarerunningagain · 17/03/2023 21:03

Waterloo? You couldn't escape if you wanted to! So it must be Tower Hill

LlynTegid · 17/03/2023 21:19

The DLR rule I need to play yet again, to get me to West Ham.

TragicMuse · 18/03/2023 09:44

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 17/03/2023 20:17

All Goldhawks do not glitter
But if you seek for a bird in the dark
You may try for a move to East Finchley
But be prepared for Ravenscourt Park.

I am actually at Ravenscourt Park RIGHT NOW!

Ealing Broadway.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 18/03/2023 10:33

Feeling frisky,
Feeling fleet,
I move us now to
Cannon Street

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 19/03/2023 07:28

The walking rule (only across the road) gets us to the new entrance at Bank, from which the Northern line takes us to Angel.

SomethingOnce · 19/03/2023 09:54

Ah, an opportunity for a Northern Line ABC!

Borough!

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 19/03/2023 09:59

I'm in! I'm going for a double letter score with Charing Cross.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/03/2023 10:07

I’m such a sheep

Deptford Bridge

OP posts:
SomethingOnce · 19/03/2023 10:09

From there, the only way is Upney.

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 19/03/2023 10:35

Somethingonce ah, sorry! Are we playing by the 1936 rules? If so surely we can only make a Hendon's diagonal from Deptford?

TragicMuse · 19/03/2023 13:48

Mothering Sunday rules though Wolves? So 'mother' stations are wild. I think I've read that right, though my main copy of Stovold's is the one with the misprints. But not for that particular page, as far as I recall.

If we are playing mother stations then I'm afraid I have no option but Finchley Road and Frognal. Anything else would require an illegal move and I'm simply not prepared - or dressed - for that.

HazelBite · 19/03/2023 22:50

Gosh things have moved apace since I last posted, some interesting moves, I'm going out on a limb here White City

SomethingOnce · 19/03/2023 23:30

Blackfriars

LlynTegid · 20/03/2023 08:18

Thameslink rule to the rescue, getting us to Kentish Town.

GonzoFlyingProducts · 20/03/2023 20:19

If what you seek is bails removal,
your destination must surely be

OVAL

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 20/03/2023 20:37

Ooh, I had forgotten the mothering day amendments. Those were dark days indeed for the game before these were agreed. Few of us are left who remember, or can bear to. In honour of the fallen, can I play Otter's Gambit to shift us to South Kensington?

HazelBite · 21/03/2023 01:22

Well if thats the way this is going, I'm going to play a wild card Bounds Green!!

LlynTegid · 21/03/2023 07:20

That is an excellent use of the Piccadilly line @HazelBite. Leaves me few options and so a safe Southgate it is. Hope the cafe near the station is still open.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/03/2023 08:31

Hmm. This is all becoming rather tame and complacent (although well done HazelBite on your bold move), so I’ll try to shake things up with

Shepherds Bush

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 21/03/2023 08:46

If it's excitement you want Maud...

Sloane Square

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/03/2023 08:50

Ooh.That’s more like it, TragicMuse. Thrilling in itself and sets me up nicely for a vertical splice to

Russell Square

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 21/03/2023 16:58

Fantastic! Now I can make a Reverse Prince Albert to Regents Park

LlynTegid · 21/03/2023 18:13

Tame was the game in 1977 until the Major made an audacious move to East Acton.

Marylebone
