To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

LlynTegid is right, I think. The 1955 Convention is sacrosanct. Those who have tried to rewrite it have been banished from the inner circle of the game of games.

Although there is that little community over Peterborough way, keep themselves to themselves but one hears that they... play by their own rules.
I'm simply going to say Chancery Lane.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2023 13:49

I think it best that what happens in Peterborough stays in Peterborough.

Waterloo

MarkWithaC · 05/12/2023 14:04

Indeed.

Now, if everyone will permit me a tiny flourish and a Two-Tiered Heff, I'm moving us to Queensway.

TragicMuse · 05/12/2023 18:11

That may, or may not, have been me @ComeIntoTheGardenMaud. Let's just say that the pearls were the charge. There were other matters taken into consideration during sentencing...

Well done @MarkWithaC that's a fine win!

So. Queensway? Hum...oh AH! It's obvious now I squint a little! Kingsbury!

FatMumSlimDad · 05/12/2023 18:14

I'm somewhat rusty having had to step back after the north-west quarter final in the summer - my nerves could no longer take it.

Dipping my toe back in the water having seen an easy in. So forgive my predictability.

Embankment

HazelBite · 05/12/2023 18:18

Two tiers???
There isn't any other option apart from Lancaster Gate

MarkWithaC · 05/12/2023 18:59

Hazel, I felt the two-tier move was fairly safe considering the margins on the Elizabeth at the moment.
But I will never quibble with such a canny shunt as that.
I'm very pleased to say I'm invoking one of my favourites, Duchesne's Perimeter, to take us on to Hainault.
Whence I put my togglers down and my feet up for the evening. À demain!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2023 19:11

I quite understand, TragicMuse. Client confidentiality prevents me from sharing my reminiscences of that afternoon in court.

And welcome, FatMumSlimDad. Rumours had reached me of the bizarre goings-on at that quarter final. It was fortunate the editor-at-large was there and could ensure the less salubrious aspects didn’t reach the gutter press.

Tiers are in my view best saved for wedding cake.

Tooting Broadway

FatMumSlimDad · 05/12/2023 20:48

Tooting on a Tuesday leads us (somewhat obviously but) nicely into Zone 8

Hence Chalfont & Latimer

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 05/12/2023 21:08

Ooh. I like your style, FatMumThinDad. On we go to

Bounds Green

DuckonaBike · 06/12/2023 08:51

Ha! The new game has certainly got off to a cracking start.

Camden Road

LlynTegid · 06/12/2023 10:41

Ten moves have passed so I could invoke the Northern Heights rule. I will instead use the London Overground rule and weekend engineering works rule to get to Queen's Park

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2023 11:26

In which case, the obvious move (if you don’t see the hidden trap that awaits) is

Barons Court

Itisallgoingtobeok · 06/12/2023 11:37

May I join? I am very much a novice so please forgive me if I don't have the same level of strategy and game play as everyone else here... Am I able to play Ealing Common based on a the Parson's Quad Move?

MarkWithaC · 06/12/2023 11:43

Welcome, Itisall!
I can only speak for myself, but I find your move delightful. And helpful, going by the current look of the Angle of Rodham.

To Pimlico, I say.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/12/2023 11:47

Welcome, Itisallgoingtobeok. Settle down on the chaise longue and relax with a cheering quart of crème de menthe (and the aplomb with which you played that move makes me think you are very far from a novice).

Itisallgoingtobeok · 06/12/2023 18:11

@MarkWithaC and @ComeIntoTheGardenMaud - Thank you for the warm welcome. I have to say, the standard of play here is really magnificent. It reminds me of the level achieved at that almost mythical match of 1974 held during the rain breaks in play at Wimbledon.

HazelBite · 06/12/2023 23:01

Hmm Maud, that's a very well thought out move, the most strategic response I can offer is Notting Hill Gate

LlynTegid · 07/12/2023 07:28

The standard of play is indeed high. I hope I do not lower it by a move to St Paul's.

TragicMuse · 07/12/2023 08:39

Morning chaps and chapesses!

In a frightful dash today. It's the Archbish's Christmas shopping trip. I aim to get him round in good order. He prefers to go straight to the Criterion and take up residence for the day. So I'm hoping to avoid an unseemly scuffle as I steer him onto the bus.

Brondesbury

MarkWithaC · 07/12/2023 09:54

Good luck, Muse. I once had to do the same for my local branch's undersecretary. Let's just say I was 'under' the weather by the end.

An integrated left to Mill Hill East.

LlynTegid · 07/12/2023 10:02

Well it is now time to play the Northern Heights rule and move to Edgware.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/12/2023 11:10

With apologies for lowering the tone:

Westminster
