To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

South of the river on a Wednesday? That is a bold move. Let's go via Bank with the DLR rule to Canning Town.

FinsburyCircus · 26/07/2023 08:24

A cheeky Angel feels appropriate here

HazelBite · 26/07/2023 12:46

All I can say is Blackhorse Road!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 26/07/2023 17:12

In which case,

Ickenham

The walking interchange rule gets us to the Central line and down to Notting Hill Gate.

FinsburyCircus · 28/07/2023 15:49

Now the Colonel always gets grumpy when the walking interchange rule is used and I have to say I agree with him. I know its technically correct but it just doesn't seem in the spirit of the game somehow?

That aside, a straightforward Longitudinal Leap takes us to Green Park

HazelBite · 28/07/2023 21:13

I'm going to retreat to Turnpike Lane

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/07/2023 21:19

Hmm. On the last Friday evening of the month, we have to pass through

Balham

OP posts:
HazelBite · 28/07/2023 23:24

Gateway to the South??
I feel that Putney Bridge is far more appropriate, you don't want to end up in Nidd!!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/07/2023 23:38

Very much so, HazelBite!

Tower Bridge

BashfulClam · 28/07/2023 23:41

I went past Mornington Crescent tube station on my way to Heathrow. I was strangely excited lol!

musixa · 28/07/2023 23:47

May be pushing the boundaries with this move, but what the heck: St Paul's.

AmytheDancingBrick · 29/07/2023 07:23

Do you allow international rules with it being a Saturday? I can see an obvious move to Dhoby Ghaut. If not then one stop to Chancery Lane.

LlynTegid · 29/07/2023 07:27

The non-stations rule takes us back to Putney Bridge, from where I move to West Brompton.

@BashfulClam for about ten years I used to go on the Northern line between Camden Town and Embankment past a certain station.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/07/2023 10:00

I’m always keen on the international dimension. After all, some of the legendary sessions of the game of games, which changed its course forever, took place in the back room of a notably seedy bar in Montmartre. In homage to which,

Abbesses

@LlynTegid the London system is a mystery to me as I live in Glasgow. I used citymapper when I was in London.

HazelBite · 29/07/2023 13:35

As you are going all "international" all I can offer is Temple (although the London station is not always open on a Saturday, don't know about the Parisian one)

LlynTegid · 01/08/2023 18:35

Blackfriars to start this month off.

@BashfulClam the Glasgow subway is no mystery but not for those of above average height!

LlynTegid · 08/08/2023 12:54

Moving to Mansion House.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/08/2023 13:05

It’s taken me a long time to figure this out, but my reading of R v Parkinson leads me to think my next move has to be

Stratford

OP posts:
HazelBite · 08/08/2023 16:47

I think you are being overly cautious there Maud, personally I would go with Elephant and Castle

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/08/2023 19:14

Ah, yes. That is more progressive - I’d overlooked the significance of Mansion House. I’ll try to do better now with

Charing Cross

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 09/08/2023 17:14

The closed line rule gets me on the Jubilee line to Kilburn.

AmytheDancingBrick · 12/08/2023 06:28

Using the 1926 rules allows the unusual move to Ealing Broadway.

LlynTegid · 12/08/2023 06:32

The 1926 rules were commonly used at one point and it is nice to see them revived.

Ealing Common is a more conventional move though.
