To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

Interesting use of the London Overground rule I expect to get us there. So I move to Kilburn.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/07/2023 18:29

I would never have thought of this, but the Colonel just sent me a telegram to suggest it and, as ever, I think he’s right:

Theydon Bois

I'm going out on a loop here!
Fairlop
(I think the Colonel would approve?)

TragicMuse · 13/07/2023 22:33

The Colonel always of Fairlop.

I'm torn. But I think it has to be Dagenham East.

DuckonaBike · 13/07/2023 22:36

I think he would, Hazel. I remember him making precisely the same move once, during a hastily arranged friendly for people who don’t like tennis during Wimbledon week 1997.

Whitechapel

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/07/2023 22:49

Ah yes, the tennis. I wonder which of the current generation of players are also devotees of the game of games? I heard a rumour that it was Bjorn Borg who first introduced Sweden to this noble pursuit.

Russell Square

The Colonel during the Wimbledon fortnight only ever seemed to make a move in the game of games in the morning.

Following his example, Barons Court.

HazelBite · 14/07/2023 12:29

I'm not going very far here Earls Court (it does give greater scope for future moves and hopefully avoids Nidd)

L1ttledrummergirl · 14/07/2023 13:06

Never played before so I hope this is right,

Green Park

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/07/2023 13:53

Welcome, L1ttledrummergirl, although playing that as your first move makes me think you’re not the novice you claim to be. You’ve closed off most of my options so I’ll have to escape to

Dollis Hill

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 14/07/2023 14:39

The proposed line rule has to be played together with the bus replacement rule, to get us out of the hole we are in.

Gets us to Brent Cross.

HazelBite · 14/07/2023 22:07

@LlynTegid and I are thinking along the same lines I think a sideways move to Golders Green is called for.

LlynTegid · 17/07/2023 15:14

Time for a cuppa in Hampstead.

LlynTegid · 21/07/2023 14:26

Now next week's strikes have been called off I move to Chalk Farm.

wizzler · 21/07/2023 14:42

And on to Camden Town

LlynTegid · 21/07/2023 16:28

And via the Bank branch of the Northern line to Moorgate.

HazelBite · 21/07/2023 22:13

I like a rail crossover Farringdon

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/07/2023 16:34

Please excuse my recent absence. The Colonel and I were at the first of the summer schools - I think I spotted some of you at the mix and mingle barbecue on Monday evening - and I’m keen to try out this new move. You may recognise it as a Single Pendleton but with a new twist:

Bromley-by-Bow

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 23/07/2023 07:23

I am pleased to read that summer schools for the game of games have returned and of the Colonel's good health.

Barking Riverside with the aid of the London Overground rule.

HazelBite · 23/07/2023 12:35

I'd forgotten about the summer schools! Was the Vice Admiral present? (I do miss him)
Onwards, I think Upney might be a good move?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2023 17:12

The Vice Admiral was very much present. At the barbecue, he took his customary interest in the absinthe-crème de menthe cocktails and consequently his play shifted from merely bold to utterly reckless. His lecture on Tuesday on modern approaches to the game of games had to be cancelled and he spent the rest of the week skulking grumpily in Nidd.

Let’s get serious:

Alperton

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 24/07/2023 19:56

The Vice Admiral has form for being grumpy.

No idea what he would think of my move to Sudbury Town.

HazelBite · 24/07/2023 23:40

Oh I see what you did there so I can only counter with Hatton Cross

FinsburyCircus · 25/07/2023 09:03

Pardon me for trying something fairly avant garde, but if we are playing with the new Amalfi Code, this allows for a return ticket to Paddington

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/07/2023 10:01

I’m very much in favour of the avant garde, so let’s proceed to

Oval
