To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 03/07/2023 14:50

Nicely done, Maud.

London Fields

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 03/07/2023 16:24

Why, thank you kindly, DuckOnABike. Let us continue to the bosky enclave of

Oakwood

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 03/07/2023 19:12

Lovely!

Gospel Oak, i fancy...

HazelBite · 03/07/2023 19:13

I'm being cautious here Manor House??

LlynTegid · 09/07/2023 08:36

I'll move back to Finsbury Park

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/07/2023 08:39

That cunning move was certainly worthy of such long deliberation, LlynTegid. I think I can extricate myself by means of a Long Pilkington to

Finchley Road

OP posts:
HazelBite · 09/07/2023 09:28

I'm going for the easy option here Preston Road

TragicMuse · 09/07/2023 11:52

sharp intake of breath

Barnesbury.

TragicMuse · 09/07/2023 11:54

Wincing slightly. Have I been too ambitious?

A sharp Nijinsky should work if anyone has a spare wild card...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/07/2023 12:22

No, no, I think that’s fine, although it has put the southbound Piccadilly line into knockings [Consolidated Rules, 2018 edition, appendix 11]. At the moment, it has to be

Wimbledon

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 09/07/2023 15:42

Phew! Thanks @ComeIntoTheGardenMaud

HazelBite · 09/07/2023 20:21

If you're going with Wimbledon I feel I can only counter with St. Johns Wood
These recent moves are very complicated, but very well thought out!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 09/07/2023 20:34

You’re too kind, HazelBite. Let’s stay with the sporting motif, by means of a lateral demi-shunt to

Arsenal

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 09/07/2023 22:28

Very athletic play this afternoon. I’m going to try and keep it going with a Flying Fuck to Finsbury Park.

Incidentally, I remember one of those causing a lot of trouble in one of the initial heats at the nationals in Birmingham in 1987. The Colonel took great offence and refused to believe it was a technical term. The Archbishop had to take him outside to calm him down.

LlynTegid · 10/07/2023 12:02

The non existent station rule comes into play, taking us back to the move before, which was Preston Road. Four moves back seems a lot but is nowhere near that of the 1977 tournament when Muswell Road instead of Muswell Hill was played under the closed stations rule.

From Preston Road it is a move to Ruislip Manor then.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/07/2023 15:18

I’m flummoxed by your argument there, LlynTegid, but will sail on serenely to

Gallions Reach

OP posts:
HazelBite · 10/07/2023 23:34

Oh lord I'm awfully confused now!
Can I tentatively suggest Seven Sisters

DuckonaBike · 11/07/2023 18:51

Yes, the game has taken a confusing turn. I’m hoping we can make a new start with a simple end of line move to Walthamstow Central.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/07/2023 19:17

Naturally, I shall now play Penhaligon’s Perpendicular to

Brixton

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 11/07/2023 20:11

I will make it simple and move to Stockwell.

wizzler · 11/07/2023 20:17

I dread ending up In Nidd so I'm being cautious too... Euston

HazelBite · 11/07/2023 21:36

I'm not going to go very far here Great Portland Street

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/07/2023 10:06

I won’t explain why. If you know, you know.

East Acton

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 13/07/2023 06:53

I think I do, so North Acton.

HazelBite · 13/07/2023 16:02

I can only counter with Willesden Green!
