Mornington Crescent rides again

To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

I am currently watching an assortment of beatniks at some kind of open air musical soirée in Somerset. It really is most alarming - great aunt Agatha and the Colonel would be fulminating about the youth of today - but it inspires me to move to

Abbey Road

OP posts:
FrenchButNot · 24/06/2023 02:34

Players have clearly been enjoying the recent relaxed and gentle gameplay - so much so that that they may have ignored the fact that the move from Stanmore to Abbey Road will clearly cause an Eddington. I'll do what I can with a shunt to Ravencourt Park but I can't predict what effect this might have on the lower reaches of the central line.

LlynTegid · 24/06/2023 07:04

The introduction of night tube was probably never thought something to consider by the original players back in the last century, even those partaking of a G+T in the cafes in the belle epoque era.

Rayners Lane

HazelBite · 24/06/2023 14:08

Rayners Lane??? That's a very bold move!
I'm going to calm this right down and thinking of the late (and very much lamented Barry Cryer) I'm off to where his favourite watering hole was to Northwood Hills

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 24/06/2023 14:17

Dear, dear Barry. I’m sure he would favour a transverse Pickford to

Tooting Bec

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 25/06/2023 07:12

The late Barry Cryer did a lot to make people aware of the game of games, which after the 1967 convention seemed to be reducing in participation, and so we should give thanks for this and all the laughs he brought.

No clue where he would make his next move were he alive today, but I will move to Tooting Broadway.

DuckonaBike · 25/06/2023 08:42

Yes, good old Barry. Inspired by his memory I’m making a slightly controversial diagonal to Stamford Brook.

In case anyone needs reminding, we are still within the week of the Summer Solstice, so intersections are wild.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 25/06/2023 10:45

It’s not only the intersections that are wild, is it, DuckOnABike? <peers over lorgnette> But it won’t be me who dredges up that unfortunate fracas at the exhibition match in Surbiton in ‘98. <raises eyebrow> I’ll simply play a double lateral to

Green Park

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 25/06/2023 12:34

The double lateral seems to have played into my hands. Southgate

HazelBite · 25/06/2023 16:33

After consulting The Vanbrugh Appendix (yet again) I think the only move now is to Wood Green

DuckonaBike · 25/06/2023 17:37

I’m not sure what Maud is implying about the fracas in Surbiton. I’m not naming names, but if anyone drank through the entire cocktail menu and then got arrested skinny dipping in the Thames at the after party, it wasn’t me.

Piccadilly Circus

HazelBite · 25/06/2023 17:49

My goodness you all seem to lead such colourful lives. Sitting in my citadel in the lower reaches of Hertfordshire I can only muse at what shenanigans the game of games, and the partaking of alcohol engenders.
I feel moved to Tottenham Court Road

LlynTegid · 27/06/2023 07:19

The Elizabeth line rule gets me to Ealing Broadway. Where no disputes during playing the game of games are recorded.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 28/06/2023 20:58

When in doubt

Oxford Circus

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 29/06/2023 22:42

Nice move, Maud. And Hazel may claim to have quiet life but I have reason to believe that this is not the whole story. I’m sure Maud could tell us more after consulting her database.

A Reverse Halbert to Great Portland Street

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/06/2023 22:50

The database is held in conditions of the utmost security. For the most part, I rely on my comprehensive and (obviously) infallible memory, but that memory stick housed in a vault in Zurich will no doubt be useful when I come to write my memoir of the game of games, in which Hazel will feature.

Harlesden

OP posts:
HazelBite · 30/06/2023 12:29

Now I'm worried!!

I can't remember anything untoward occurring but then I am senior in years and my memory is not what it was.
I shall just sit here with my ginger companion Seamus and try and recall.
Mea while Cockfosters

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 30/06/2023 12:34

No need to worry, Hazel, just so long as you keep sending the monthly payments. I won’t even disclose Seamus’s true identity to those you have lulled into thinking he’s a cat. Oh no.

Baker Street

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 30/06/2023 13:01

I will try my best to avoid looking at any smug Australians as I venture to St John's Wood

TragicMuse · 30/06/2023 17:57

Well now. Some heady play this week!

I am, at heart, a simple soul and favour easing into the weekend with a simple move. To Wapping.

DuckonaBike · 01/07/2023 07:47

Deceptively simple, Tragic, if you don’t mind my saying so.

Bethnal Green

LlynTegid · 01/07/2023 09:23

Long time I think since we ventured further east, and so Newbury Park it is.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 01/07/2023 10:00

In which case, I shall follow Ian Dury to

Dagenham Heathway

OP posts:
wizzler · 01/07/2023 12:15

It's the first of the month so I think at least one of us needs to declare Covent Garden

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 01/07/2023 23:29

You’re quite right, wizzler. Now, how about

Liverpool Street?
