Mornington Crescent rides again

To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

The vice admiral certainly gets around.

As you mention Geneva I think we are safe to head to Swiss Cottage

LlynTegid · 20/06/2023 11:42

I think we should move south to Bond Street.

TragicMuse · 20/06/2023 12:36

Ah, Swiss Cottage. I spent a lot of time around that area, having fun with Miss Freud.

Brondesbury. Always makes me think of brontosauruses.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 20/06/2023 20:04

Clearly a dinosaur theme requires a traverse to
South Kensington

HazelBite · 20/06/2023 20:07

According to the Fishguard rules and bearing in mind the Vanbrugh Appendix the only suggestion I have is Fairlop

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 20/06/2023 21:10

Enough of this frivolity. I’m getting back to basics with a longitudinal shunt to

Kennington

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 20/06/2023 21:18

That’s the spirit Maud!

London Bridge

LlynTegid · 21/06/2023 07:06

A short journey up the Northern line gets us to Moorgate. I am sure the 'secret' passage to the Elizabeth line would have confused some of those at the 1994 West Acton tournament had it existed at the time.

HazelBite · 21/06/2023 13:02

Sticking my neck out here, maybe this is not within many of the rules, but I'm risking Arnos Grove

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/06/2023 18:31

Arnos Grove is always a risk, although sometimes it it can pay off in spectacular fashion.

Gidea Park

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 21/06/2023 21:07

Indeed it can, Maud <smiles knowingly>

Liverpool Street

LlynTegid · 21/06/2023 21:35

Use of the secret passage now ruled out. So the Circle line to my rescue to Temple.

TragicMuse · 21/06/2023 21:48

Queensway. I think the 1927 version of the rules permit that.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/06/2023 21:50

<winks back>

Kensington High Street

OP posts:
ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 22/06/2023 15:30

There is some very risky (or should that be risqué) play going on here. I am going to go back to basics and rely on Chp 3 of Stovold. I think a move to
Chancery Lane
should restore some order.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 22/06/2023 15:34

Ah, Stovold. Always the best and quickest way to calm the more troubled waters of the game of games.

Temple

OP posts:
HazelBite · 22/06/2023 19:49

Temple has been visited very frequently of late I think that I have to move this along to Embankment

LlynTegid · 22/06/2023 19:54

It is a good job the move was west, otherwise it could have made the move null and void under the 1949 convention rules, thought to be a rule to avoid anyone playing Ongar.

So next move must be Lambeth North.

wizzler · 23/06/2023 07:19

I'd always wondered about the 1949 convention. Old street

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 23/06/2023 09:05

Under the new and somewhat controversial hybrid working rules I can substitute my morning commute for a quick sidestep to
Angel

TragicMuse · 23/06/2023 10:06

I'm going to have to take us from Angel very quickly. It's my most hated stated in the whole network. That single central platform does not play nicely with my OCD. One day I shall relate the full story of an evening which began quite innocently in Croydon listening to Handel's Messiah and which culminated in me clinging the stair bannister at Angel cowering in fear and horror. Today is not that day. 37 years is not enough to dampen the memory.

Wembley Central

TragicMuse · 23/06/2023 10:07

(That's an actual true story!)

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/06/2023 10:24

I’m so sorry you endured such trauma, TragicMuse. I trust your mood will be lifted by a diversion to

Dollis Hill

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 23/06/2023 12:26

The 1949 convention never solved the question of where the centre of the world is. Suggestion was Neasden so I shall move there.

HazelBite · 23/06/2023 21:20

Oh no, I can only go to Stanmore the restrictions are too severe under the new hybrid rules.
