To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

It’s quite painful to be reminded of the details, TragicMuse. It was, after all, my surfboard and the insurance company declined to settle the claim, arguing that the colonel’s near miss was either an act of God or a natural disaster.

Gallions Reach

My profound apologies @ComeIntoTheGardenMaud I didn't mean to re-traumatise you.

DuckonaBike · 13/06/2023 21:37

Moving on from these painful recollections, a quick shunt to Poplar

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/06/2023 22:16

Nil desperandum

Redbridge

There is a certain calmness about the post-war architecture of the stations added to the central line- Gants Hill.

HazelBite · 15/06/2023 07:29

All things considered the only move I can manage is Notting Hill Gate

TragicMuse · 15/06/2023 22:04

Ahhh, Waterloo. For sure.

chocolateisavegetable · 15/06/2023 22:34

Having consulted the Vanbrugh Appendix very carefully, the only logical move is to Upminster

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/06/2023 23:46

Something, I’m not sure who or what, is calling me to

Goodge Street

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 16/06/2023 21:59

Cunning, Maud. I can see what you’re about there. Having thought through my strategy (and taking into account the post war architecture) I’m going to counter with a Brougham’s Variant to Park Royal

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/06/2023 22:53

I know I can never fool you, DuckOnABike. As it’s after sundown on a Friday, I feel justified in playing Godman’s Offset to

Seven Sisters

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 16/06/2023 23:25

Sharp intake of breath

Well now @ComeIntoTheGardenMaud that's quite the move. Brave play.

Stockwell. I think that's about the best I can do in the circs.

wizzler · 16/06/2023 23:46

Haven't played for a long time and I'm very rusty on some of these rules.. I'll play safe and go Bank

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/06/2023 00:16

Nicely done, wizzler, and no more false modesty, please!

Covent Garden

OP posts:
wizzler · 17/06/2023 07:29

Ok I'm feeling braver. As it is a Saturday I think it's fine to go to Seven Sisters

DuckonaBike · 17/06/2023 08:51

A Hawkins Double, Wizzler! I don’t think you are as rusty as you claim.

Walthamstow Central

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/06/2023 09:07

Which sets me up nicely for one of my favourite moves. A transverse to

Totteridge and Whetstone

OP posts:
HazelBite · 17/06/2023 12:56

That leads me very nicely to Great Portland Street

TragicMuse · 17/06/2023 13:58

Perfectly poised for a side-gumption to Dollis Hill!

LlynTegid · 18/06/2023 21:25

At this point it has to be Neasden

wizzler · 19/06/2023 09:22

If I base direction on the Elliott methodology we should head for Oakwood

HazelBite · 19/06/2023 12:39

Neasden was a stroke of genius but Oakwood is making me think that Turnpike Lane is the way to go bearing in mind the Godmans Offset

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/06/2023 13:04

Elliott methodology? Verily, we are standing on the shoulders of giants here.

Chancery Lane

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 19/06/2023 20:32

Goodness yes, the Elliot methodology! I remember the controversy when it was first introduced during a friendly in Colchester in 1987. The full theory wasn’t published until the following year in MC Quarterly, and by then it had caused terrible conniptions in both the Dean of one of the Cambridge ladies’ colleges and a very senior civil servant. I’m sure you know who I mean.

Acton North

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/06/2023 20:57

I remember her well! The vice-admiral still visits her in the sanatorium in Geneva.

Turnham Green
