To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

Surrey Quays, naturally.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/04/2023 21:04

Drat! That’s blocked several of my laterals but I think I can get free via

Seven Sisters

The last few moves seem to have got this game out of a quandary. Enabling a move to South Ruislip.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/04/2023 11:29

Good to see you here, KnickersThatFit. I’m still not completely out of the woods, but I seem to have a couple of options. As I’m feeling easy like Sunday morning, I’m heading, at the Colonel’s suggestion, to

Rickmansworth

Au contraire, the Colonel has long been my tutor in this game of games and in so many other matters. It is in fond and proud memory of his winning Pilkington Shuffle at the Strasbourg Olympiad in ‘83 that I offer you

Turnpike Lane

DuckonaBike · 16/04/2023 21:07

Ooh, Strasbourg in ‘83, that was quite an event. Do you remember the chap with the sombrero, the false moustache and the impressive embonpoint who tried to play a Mumbleswerve on the Bakerloo Line? He had to be taken outside by security in the end. I still covet his pet cheetah.

Caledonian Road & Barnsbury

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/04/2023 21:36

((Cough)) That was me, DuckOnABike. An unfortunate misunderstanding with the Inland Revenue over the tax-deductible status of my subscription to Practical Gerbil-Keeping and MC Monthly meant I had to travel incognito for a while. The security team were over-zealous, as I thought at the time and still do.

Deftly done, KnickersThatFit, although I do hope you will pop into Peter Jones for some more, ahem, decorous stockings.

Vauxhall

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 17/04/2023 10:46

The kind of stockings worn at one club near Vauxhall are not the sort sold at Peter Jones.

Oval

DuckonaBike · 17/04/2023 20:50

Please, Knickers, do not mention Havana. And I’m a little disturbed that you have found out about Bastille Day.

And frankly Llyn in this context the less said about stockings the better.

South Wimbledon

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 17/04/2023 22:05

Hmm. All this talk of knickers and stockings may be giving the wrong impression to the many eager onlookers who are no doubt watching this game and contemplating their first move. In search of the propriety snd rectitude for which the game of games is renowned, I offer you

Hatton Cross

That sounds the perfect outfit for the game of games. Indeed it’s uncannily like the dashing ensemble the Contessa wore to the quarter-finals in Biarritz in 1994, where she dazzled the crowds with her daring reverse pontoon to

Mile End

moveoverye · 17/04/2023 22:53

Can I join please? Been a long time since I played. My grandfather taught me when I was a teenager. Many a happy car journey :-)

So… Carnaby Street?

Two invalid moves (sorry to break the news) mean we are back at Mile End, and so can move to Leyton with ease.

DuckonaBike · 18/04/2023 19:09

It’s always good to welcome a newcomer to the game (with one or two exceptions obviously) so I’m keeping the options open with a simple traverse to Marble Arch

HazelBite · 18/04/2023 20:23

Oxford Circus seems the obvious move here, however I feel I may be likely to be destined for Nidd now?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 18/04/2023 21:27

I think you’re (just) on the right side of Nidd, HazelBite. Luckily for you, longitudinals are retrograde until Friday.

Swiss Cottage

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 19/04/2023 07:39

Not a longitudinal but a move to Kilburn.

HazelBite · 19/04/2023 12:55

I see the perfect move here Neasden

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/04/2023 14:48

In which case, I can only proceed via

Dollis Hill
