To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 08/04/2023 06:17

Never mind Maud's opinion, let's go east to Moorgate.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 08/04/2023 09:51

I am an old lady in my twilight years, so my opinion counts for little.

Clapham South

GonzoFlyingProducts · 09/04/2023 21:04

If you are an old lady in your twilight years then your opinion, in my eyes, carries more weight than most.

RUSSELL SQUARE

FangsForTheMemory · 09/04/2023 21:40

I remember Russell’s last film. I saw its premiere near Piccadilly Circus.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/04/2023 01:19

Gonzo, you are so kind. I too am fond of cinematic entertainment, so will hasten to

Leicester Square

OP posts:
GonzoFlyingProducts · 10/04/2023 02:27

`Oh you fool(music) , you don't know what you've done. We'll meet of coourse but it will be so intense, Leicester Square - where it all happened all those years ago. But this time we won't kiss, you won't be mine, you won't give up your safe accountant with his surburban house and home - it could all have been so different, it could all have been so District Line.

Leicester Square (tears in my eyes)

LlynTegid · 10/04/2023 08:54

I hope tears have been dried and so we can move to Holborn.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 10/04/2023 10:29

Leicester Square twice? Such play is either inspired or lunacy, depending on your interpretation of the rules. The colonel tried it once in the finals in Tangiers in ‘78 and spent the rest of the tournament in Nidd.

Lancaster Gate

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 10/04/2023 16:53

I think it’s inspired, albeit a highly dangerous move. But I have long been an admirer of the colonel’s, at a respectful distance.

Mile End

HazelBite · 10/04/2023 19:34

I've been mulling this over for a while and in view of Maud's (and mine) advanced years I think a backward traverse to Old Street would be appropriate

GonzoFlyingProducts · 10/04/2023 23:26

Tricky, as Hazel has played an open variation of what looks like the Southwark method and to avoid passing at a scondary tangent, with KLAFF already invoked and Mortimers opening ignored for the first ten moves, as the current overboard player I think my only way forward is

ELEPHANT AND CASTLE

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 11/04/2023 14:26

I like your style, Gonzo.

Denmark Hill

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 11/04/2023 17:08

I think in honour of the Brunel family a move to Wapping. Neither dad or his more famous son lived long enough to play the game of games, though many a move has been made to a station they created.

DuckonaBike · 12/04/2023 17:37

Good thought, Llyn. I’ve long had a hankering for the name Isambard. Probably just as well I don’t have boys.

London Bridge

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 12/04/2023 17:40

Let’s tour the landmarks of London. I dare say we might find a nice bar or two or three nearby.

Tower Hill

OP posts:
LlynTegid · 12/04/2023 18:28

Museums are part of the landmarks and several are to be found near South Kensington.

HazelBite · 12/04/2023 20:48

The architecture of this station is truly wonderful Westminster

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/04/2023 11:54

I have an urge to revisit the magnificent glasshouses at

Kew Gardens

OP posts:
GonzoFlyingProducts · 14/04/2023 01:54

Oh Maud, actually yes, let's enjoy the gardens, they're magnificent, wonderful, enchanting and while you're dreaming there - HAHA - I'll slip away and race unhindered while you're off the board back into town

TEMPLE !!!!! (which closes four diagonals) smell the flowers baby...

LlynTegid · 14/04/2023 08:28

Via the walking interchange and closed lines rules, Aldwych.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 14/04/2023 10:19

I see what you’re trying to do, Gonzo, but LlynTegid has put a stop to your nonsense.

Euston Square

OP posts:
HazelBite · 14/04/2023 23:43

After much consideration I think the only way, taking all these recent moves into account, is to go to Tottenham Court Road

LlynTegid · 15/04/2023 10:18

Time for the Elizabeth line rule to take us to Romford.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/04/2023 10:55

Let’s stay with the regal theme:

Kings Cross

OP posts:
HazelBite · 15/04/2023 19:40

I have to veer to North London Kentish Town
