To nobody’s surprise, the frantic pace of this latest game means that the last thread is full and (as far as I can see) <polishes lorgnette> we don’t yet have a successor. So, off we go with a Brunswick Lateral to

Russell Square

I've been pondering for quite some time. Working the angles, calculating the risk...

There's just one thing for it.

Neasden.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/04/2023 11:17

I can see you’ve put a great deal of thought into that, TragicMuse. You’ve very nearly boxed me in - it’s uncannily like the Oslo semi-finals in ‘95 - but I can escape to

Northolt

LlynTegid · 04/04/2023 16:03

I think Sudbury Town is sensible for a Tuesday afternoon.

HazelBite · 04/04/2023 16:09

On a sunny Tuesday afternoon I would gently suggest Moor Park

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/04/2023 18:06

On a Tuesday afternoon, nothing is sensible.

Piccadilly Circus

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 04/04/2023 19:47

Bit of a wild card there Maud! I wasn’t expecting that.

Queensway

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 04/04/2023 22:09

Let's keep it seasonal. We can admire reckless tulipomania at Holland Park

GonzoFlyingProducts · 04/04/2023 23:26

Maud can throw a wild car anytime - never take your eyes off her. I remember back in Havana when she and the Brigadier were discovered - ooops - I'll bite my tongue.

GOODGE STREET

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/04/2023 23:58

((Coughs loudly)) I can hear you, you know. The Brigadier and I go back a long way - we were at Sandhurst together - so naturally he was my companion of choice for a late night tour of the salsa bars of Havana. Our subsequent arrest was wrongful, as the law suit eventually proved.

Arsenal

Time to go out on a limb.

Upminster

(And I still say a wiser magistrate would have been content with a mere reprimand.)

LlynTegid · 06/04/2023 07:16

London Overground rule helps on the journey as does the Elizabeth line. Eventually to arrive at Fairlop.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2023 13:24

Ooh! That sets me up nicely for

Farringdon

OP posts:
DuckonaBike · 06/04/2023 21:49

Ooh, that’s a tricky one. I’ve been pondering for some time, and I’m going to venture on a Winston’s Sprocket to Chancery Lane.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2023 22:50

Gosh. Sprockets (whatever their form) are contentious. Surely you recall what happened after the Archduke played Levington’s Sprocket at the heats in Esher? The presiding committee took six months to arrive at a compromise solution and, even then, he had to be deported on the grounds of the public good.

Barbaric

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2023 22:52

That should, of course, say Barbican, although, even now, there are some who think both the Archduke’s behaviour and his treatment were barbaric.

OP posts:
GonzoFlyingProducts · 07/04/2023 01:19

On reflection I think it was quite right that the Arch Duke was deproted, I mean, playing Levingtons Sprockets is one thing but the stable boy, the custard, the horse? I'll step in now and give this game a whiff of respectability (stockings not withstanding from the move to Covent Garden of course)

BANK

LlynTegid · 07/04/2023 08:35

The lovely interchange (or confusing one) allows all sorts of moves to follow Bank.

I'll play the simple one and move to Waterloo.

HazelBite · 07/04/2023 09:49

Bank opens out many possibilities, so (Levington's Sprocket aside for a moment, if I may) I think I may go with Borough

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/04/2023 11:57

That’s good, HazelBite, but not quite good enough.

Happy Good Friday one and all!

I have consulted my Stovold's, when Good Friday is the also the first Friday of the month the Circle Line is wild.

Which can only mean one thing...

Bermondsey

SomethingOnce · 07/04/2023 13:50

Bermondsey used to be rather wild, it’s true - disappointingly gentrified these days - but let’s go to the zoo for some monkey business, alighting at Regent’s Park

LlynTegid · 07/04/2023 14:43

And having seen the wildlife, move west to Goldhawk Road

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/04/2023 15:28

I’ve never been convinced by Stovold, although I suppose her many years in and out of Holloway prison and, more recently, (cough) retired in a country with no extradition treaty to the U.K. have given her plenty of opportunity to reflect on the finer points of the game of games.

Kilburn Park

OP posts:
TragicMuse · 07/04/2023 16:11

Warren Street

HazelBite · 07/04/2023 22:27

Obviously Borough wasn't good enough!
so after much thought and consideration I'm going with Great Portland Street

Is that okay Maud?
