My absolute favourite lunch that I really look forward to, is corn thins (like rice cakes) with cottage cheese on. I could eat tonnes of it! On the cottage cheese subject, I witnessed my DM mixing in orange segments to hers on a salad the other day. Odd.

Whole baby beetroot picked in sweet vinegar straight from the jar. Lovely.

Another vote for that from me. Anything vinegary is a hit with me. I've never had a pickled egg but I suspect I would like them.

Cream crackers with butter and cheddar and my mum's homemade chutney. Delicious and I could eat a whole packet.

Jux · 15/02/2023 17:05

Plain spaghettie with a bit of butter. Eat it hot or cold. Wonderful stuff ♥️♥️♥️

Just had a crisp sambo!
Ready Salted, loads of butter.
And a big cup of tea. Lovely...

@MissBridgetJones & @FatAgainItsLettuceTime upgrade your tinned Tom's with a bit of fresh basil or Italian seasoning .
I do this and serve it in a big mug with cheese on it and toast .
It's like a cheap pizza !

AelinoftheWildfire · 15/02/2023 17:11

Raw stuffing mix (Paxo, supermarket brand....I'm not fussy)

Crikeyalmighty · 15/02/2023 17:15

Sardines on toast
M&S fishcakes mashed between 2 slices of bread with tartare sauce and rocket
Pizza with pineapple on it

Shunkleisshiny · 15/02/2023 17:17

Cheese in't oven as it's known in Sheffield.
Lots of grated cheese on an ovenproof plate, a dash of milk and bunged in the oven, (some people crack an egg in the middle, but that is too radical for me.)
Bake until it's bubbling, and serve with sliced white bread.

MrsAvocet · 15/02/2023 17:18

I love tofu but everyone else in my family hates it, no matter how it's cooked.

Picklypickles · 15/02/2023 17:21

I'm a vegetarian and my carnivorous daughter often looks at me sadly whilst I'm tucking into my lentil lasagna or a veggie burger! Most of my family wont eat much of what I eat!

Jux · 15/02/2023 17:21

The one everyone thinks is horrible is Gentlemen's Relish on pumpernickel. If I could afford it it would be one of m main comfort eats (the other one being the spag ^ whichis too boring for words!).

Another boring one, whole tinned carrots straight from the tin.

Jux · 15/02/2023 17:24

I also like nibbling on plain old Carr's Water Biscuits

winningeasy · 15/02/2023 17:25

This thread is helping me with my morning sickness / cravings

Invisablewoman · 15/02/2023 17:45

Super noodles (chicken or Chinese chow mein flavour) mixed with a tin of tuna, sweetcorn and LOTS of soy sauce.

Cadburysucks · 15/02/2023 18:10

Stilton cheese and ripe banana in a whole meal bread sandwich. Have always loved it.

shouldhavetakenmorenotice · 15/02/2023 18:11

Tinned tomatoes. Eaten like soup

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 15/02/2023 11:47

Tinned tomatoes with bread and butter for dipping in the juice. Mum used to make it for us for breakfast on cold mornings and now it feels like comfort in a bowl.

Exactly this!

HaalandisaDon · 15/02/2023 18:24

Plain boiled rice with a tin of sardines (in oil) and fresh black pepper.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 15/02/2023 18:34

A tub of Taramasalata and 3 or 4 toasted pitta breads

wineandsunshine · 15/02/2023 18:39

Dairylea and corned beef sandwiches.

Mash potato with a fried egg cut up in it.

Cheap super noodles with ketchup.

Cheese and onion crisp sandwich.

I love food. Any food. 🤣

mrsdolittle · 15/02/2023 18:43

Corned beef out of a tin (not sliced in a packet). Bloody love the stuff. With branston pickle or HP sauce. Or in a hash

Chicken and mushroom pot noodles - my shameful secret vice Smile

lazarusb · 15/02/2023 18:44

Beans on toast with salad cream liberally applied. Heavenly.

This was my Grandpa’s favourite tea! He was from Preston. I can see my Gran making it for him now. It had to be Lancashire cheese.

Flev · 15/02/2023 18:56

Tinned hot dogs and tinned potatoes cut up, heated together, then drenched in melted butter and salted.
