My absolute favourite lunch that I really look forward to, is corn thins (like rice cakes) with cottage cheese on. I could eat tonnes of it! On the cottage cheese subject, I witnessed my DM mixing in orange segments to hers on a salad the other day. Odd.

I could probably live off baked potato with any topping - baked beans one day, cheese another, sour cream / salsa (ie leftover tex mex dips), tuna, mushrooms. Unfortunately dc don’t like baked potatoes.

Bananadramallamas · 15/02/2023 11:49

Heinz tomato soup with cream crackers in it.

Timeturnerplease · 15/02/2023 11:57

Raspberries dipped in Nutella.

olives

gentlemans' relish

anchovies

stilton

oysters

There's a podcast that deals with this sort of thing. Grace Dent's Comfort Eating asks people what they eat at home on the sofa.
She did James Norton recently and his was Gentleman's Relish on toast, topped with avocado and scrambled egg, with marmalade (!) on the side. I want to try it now.

babybunny123 · 15/02/2023 12:14

packet of cheese an onion crisps with maltesers poured into the bag.

PortiasBiscuit · 15/02/2023 12:15

Sardines in tomato sauce on granary toast.. just off to have some now.

harriethoyle · 15/02/2023 12:16

Weetabix with butter and marmite. I think lovingly of my late Mum every time I indulge, it was her very favourite breakfast...

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 15/02/2023 12:19

Cold Campbells condensed mushroom soup eaten straight from the can.

Soubriquet · 15/02/2023 12:19

Raw stuffing mix.

I’ll often pick at at just after I’ve added the water and mixed it all through

Hellswithbigbells · 15/02/2023 12:21

Microwave rice with mayonnaise AND BBQ sauce mixed in or cooked onion with the cheapest cheese slice on a soft white roll with ketchup and mustard....

Spanielsarepainless · 15/02/2023 12:23

Calves' liver and onions.
Rice, semolina, tapioca or macaroni pudding like my mother used to make.
Faggots in gravy (proper solid ones).

cushioncovers · 15/02/2023 12:24

Another one for raw stuffing. Paxo original. I love it more than cooked stuffing. Also jacket potatoes with Butter and salt.

cushioncovers · 15/02/2023 12:25

And semolina with strawberry jam mixed in.

LapinR0se · 15/02/2023 12:26

I love thick toasted white bread with salted butter and marmalade and a giant mug of tea

BigPurpleArm · 15/02/2023 12:27

Agree with pp I love picking at 'raw' stuffing mix more than when it's cooked in the oven.

TribeD · 15/02/2023 12:29

DH doesn't like soup, tomatoes, beans but I love them.

Makes my lunches super easy though.

MrsRinaDecker · 15/02/2023 12:35

Cheap white bread toast. With peanut butter or butter and jam.

barbrahunter · 15/02/2023 13:13

Sloppy white bread sandwiches with sardine and tomato paste and cucumber

FatOaf · 15/02/2023 13:23

I love liver with gallons of onion gravy. Most people heave when I mention it.

Blueberrywitch · 15/02/2023 11:36

Microwave rice and tinned tuna with soy sauce. I have recently got the DP involved by labelling these nights as “student life nights” where we both eat something extremely low effort to whip up and not very flavourful for dinner. The branding has got him on board 😂

Try it with nandos sauce and a bag of the microwave frozen veg - Elite!

Same here, I could eat a baked spud any day of the week.

Weetabix with butter and strong cheddar

Marmite and lettuce sandwiches

Sardines on toast with thinly sliced tomatoes.

Harebrain · 15/02/2023 13:27

Sardines (in tomato sauce) on toast. Delicious 😋

Magenta65 · 15/02/2023 13:28

Not a meal but Broad beans with lashings of butter and black pepper.
Mince and onion with Garvey, peas, sweetcorn and carrots with some mash in a giant Yorkshire pudding 🤤

AnthonyTheTurtle · 15/02/2023 13:31

Yep.

Got to be cheap white sliced.
Got to be Walkers Ready Salted.
Got to be real butter.
