We need to repaint and don't know what colour. Currently it is 2 tones of grey and DH hates it. We want to go all one colour.

What colour is yours?

Farrow & ball matched Johnstones in elephants breath on the chimney breast/adjoining walls & skimming stone on the rest of the walls. Didn't want to rip up my chocolate brown carpet or get shut of my brown sofa so opted for greige. Cosy in winter but bright & light in summer.

Dulux Egyptian Cotton

The walls are All White with lots of pictures, shelves with books and plants and texture to add interest.

White but I have a large abstract canvas with lots of colours on one wall. I keep wanting to paint but really can't be bothered.

Our west facing family room is white. It's full of children's books and lego and an orange sofa so very colourful.

I've got colour elsewhere in the house but the living room is painted in Craig & Rose Pipe Clay - a really nice true neutral shade that adds a bit some warmth.

Having tried a few things over the last few years/homes I've realised that in the lounge I just like things to feel calming but we've got some rooms upstairs in dark moodier shades that I also love - mostly the Dulux Heritage range which I really recommend, it has such a lovely finish.

Soon to paint living room in Craig and Rose Round Room. So, no idea yet if it will look good. Grin

Quite a dark north facing room so I decided to warm it up with a sunny yellow .

It’s a dark blue (Dulux sapphire salute). If I were to repaint I’d only do it to go a shade darker blue. I love it in winter, but in summer I find it ever so slightly too light. I love dark walls!

AuntyMabelandPippin · 13/02/2023 21:09

We have Dulux Willow Tree, a warm light green.

RugbyGirl1 · 13/02/2023 21:11

Another one for F&B skimming stone.... Although it's not yet on the walls 😂 the lounge is right next to the kitchen which has dark green units and so we had to find something that didn't clash. Otherwise I would've gone for a sagey green

PerilousCorridor · 13/02/2023 21:20

One has Inchyra Blue, the other Dead Salmon. Both F and B matches in something cheaper. Generally a moody-toned house. And moody inhabitants.

I believe it's called dry plaster...

or to be more exact, incredibly dry plaster!

im not saying when it was plastered!

obviously needs painting (whole house) but I now need to get decorators in as life has changed significantly & I'm no longer physically able to do the sanding, several coats of mist plus top coats. The one room & bathroom I did get to do are beautiful & I'm unhappy about having to get someone else to do the others. Trades people are SO hard to find & I can't get any local recommendations.

Where about are you? Perhaps somebody on here can recommend…

BeBesideTheSea · 13/02/2023 21:35

Little Green James Blue. Room is large but dark and this makes it seem very cosy.

@HelloDaisy ah that's a lovely thought. Thank you.

I'm North Hampshire where it meets Surrey & Berkshire. Gu46.

it's fine if you all turn up at the weekend with paint & brushes 🤣🤣

Hels20 · 13/02/2023 22:02

We have just had our lounge down - in duck egg blue. It was cream before and v bland. I love it!

*done not down

Loopyloooooo · 13/02/2023 22:05

Mine is a Dulux yellow, it's a lovely, light, soft buttery yellow. It's warm and cosy in the winter but lovely and light in summer.

My DH doenst like it but he doesn't often have anything nice to say about anything I choose so...

You’re amazingly near me! Think I drove near you today as went to The Meadows 😀

I like painting but not sure you’d like the result, more enthusiasm than skill! I will ask dh though as he knows lots of people in trades…
