We need to repaint and don't know what colour. Currently it is 2 tones of grey and DH hates it. We want to go all one colour.

What colour is yours?

A light taupe colour called Whippet

WonderingWanda · 13/02/2023 15:40

Just Walnut by Dulux. It's a nice neutral colour but looks dated alongside our brown sofas and oak furniture but I just can't face painting it all again, it has a dado rail and the stairs go up out of the lounge (sounds hideous) so there's a lot of cutting in to do. It's also a dark room so couldn't have a lovely dark green like the poster up thread. I long to move so I can decorate my new house and buy new furniture rather than start again with this one.

Rather bright green called Dulux Enchanted Eden. Chosen by previous owners but we've got used to it.

Hi @wickerhearth it’s this www.colourtrend.co.uk/products/long-weekend

Pebble Shore by Dulux - a soft grey - we have deep purple curtains and a deep purple sofa and oak parquet flooring with a grey rug.

CantStandMeow · 13/02/2023 15:51

Dead Salmon, horrible name. Looks nice though!

We inherited grey laminate when we moved into our house 18 months ago so I had to work with that and the colour of our new sofas which I love. Originally it was Dulux Pebble Shore which as okay, but it need redoing. I ended up going for Polished Pebble and Golden Sands feature wall paint both by Dulux and adding colours in the furnishing and accessories (ignore the ugly light fitting I haven’t got around to changing that yet!).

that's a great yellow, I'm thinking of going for a strong yellow when we repaint.

Watercolour by Atelier Ellis. Love it

xogossipgirlxo · 13/02/2023 16:03

Grey, I'd prefer some earth colours

justasking111 · 13/02/2023 16:03

Pale duck egg, cream fireplace and greeny carpet. It's very relaxing, bright in sunlight and attractive on winter days. Before it was maroon and mauve so first room we decorated.

Pallisers · 13/02/2023 16:06

small sitting room has a deep navy blue with white trim and white bookshelves on 3 walls. It is my favourite room.

Bigger one has a pale primrose yellow.

afaloren · 13/02/2023 16:06

Grey which I know is not popular on MN but I love it.

abbey44 · 13/02/2023 16:06

Laura Ashley light seaspray with navy blue accents (some of the furniture and cushions) - the room has a glass wall at the end overlooking the sea, so the colours frame the view really well. I love it.

trulyunruly01 · 13/02/2023 16:27

I'm googling your colours like crazy. We've had the same colour in our living room for the past 11 years and determined this spring to make the big change.
It's east facing, with patio doors at one end and a window on the side wall at the far end - 23ft long. Beautifully bright in the AM, shadowy in the PM and at this time of year under lamplight from about 5pm.
Any pointers gratefully accepted...

trulyunruly01 · 13/02/2023 16:29

It sometimes reminds me of a cave as it gets progressively shadowier the further back you go. I made a new word! Shadowier.

VitaminX · 13/02/2023 16:30

A colour that I think is green and DP thinks is blue. It's definitely green. Sort of grey green, I would call it.

And a pale sand sort of colour.

Judging by this thread we are not very original!

Plain white. It's the only colour DH and I could agree on.

I have a north facing living room, got so sick of trying to lighten it up I embraced the darkness, it’s now a quite dark greeny/grey (valspar grey-green linen) with greige carpet & sofas darker green/blush pink & cerise throws lamps & cushions it’s very cosy.

Ginmonkeyagain · 13/02/2023 16:57

@Choconuttolata OH my - i wish I had known about that when I redid our bedroom. The room has three cream walls with navy on the large back wall. I drove Mr Monkey and our decorators mad searching for the perfect navy blue paint. In the end we went with Hint of Blue Stocking by Valspar but it is not quite dark enough.

Ginmonkeyagain · 13/02/2023 16:59

@trulyunruly01 If you need to lighten up a room have a look at the Dulux Light and Space range - we used Morning Light for three walls of the aforementioned room with the dark navy blue feature wall and it works really well.
